I’m taking my vehicle for a service in about a week, so I’m not gonna risk any coding before that. Hopefully won’t have to visit the dealer for a long long while if they finally get this dashcam sorted. Once I get it back I’ll do everything in my power to relieve the burden of ASS. The consensus seems to be that it’s impossible to enable ASS memory, therefore, it’s easier to just have it startup in sport. Then at least you don’t have to press the button everytime by default.

Disabling ASS with ID7 has never been an option. Pre LCI and ID6 sure.

I knew LCI wasn’t do-able, but I thought if you had the button you were good. Good to know it’s an ID7 limitation.

Jeesh, that sucks. I haven’t tried to code anything on my new ID7 X5, sounds like the basics are going to be fruitless efforts.

I’m trying one more independent coder. I’ll share what they say is possible and what they say can’t be done. Steve from codemybimmer told me he’d only be able to do about 1/3 of my original list. I’ll share his response below.

Anti Dazzle / VLD Headlights OK

Active Sound Design Off (Not possible on newer firmware)

Enable Auto Stop Start Memory (Not possible on newer firmware)

Add Pink / Purple Ambient Lighting Option under bronze (Not offered on our coding service list)

Brake Force Display on hard breaking OK

Disable Honking When Locking car with engine running (Not possible on newer firmware)

Enable Video in Motion OK

Enable Video Playback from USB (Not possible on iDrive 7)

Enable Welcome Light in Darkness???? (Idk what this is just saw it on a list) (Not offered on our coding service list)

Disable Top Speed Restriction for Cameras (Not applicable on LCI model)

Disable Angel Eye Dimming (does this work on LCI?) (Not applicable on LCI model)

Close Trunk From Key & Interior Buttons and enable One touch close from interior buttons (Not offered on our coding service list)

Disable Window Safety( Enable Auto Opening/Closing while door is open.) OK

Enable Ability to Add new Devices (phone/tablet) while Driving OK

Turn on zoom feature for rear view camera OK

Disable start up and legal disclaimers. OK

Enable Tire Temperarure / Pressure Reading in Drive menu. OK

Enable DRL on/off Switch (Already enabled as this is a US vehicle)

Rolls Royce Chimes and Parking Alert (Not possible on newer firmware)

M Performance Dials up to 200 Mph OK

Apple Audio Enhancement ??? Not sure what this is but you likely got this from another vendor’s list

Changing Multicolor Ambient Lighting (not sure if this is possible through coding alone but saw it on a video) (
Not offered

Disable Having to have hands on wheel for driving assistance Requires an hardware actuator for this as this cannot be achieved by coding alone

Disable Amber Front Side Markers OK

Disable seatbelt chime for front seats OK

Mobile Office Functionality enabled Already enabled

Change default camera view to automatic OK

Enable automatic activation of seat and steering wheel heating Not applicable to this model

Enable sunroof closing when vehicle is parked and raining. OK

Enable soft closing of automatic trunk Not offered on this model

Enable automatic trunk to be closed with key fob/ footwell switch. OK

Windows close with key fob OK

xHP also has an option to disable ASS. Has anybody tried that to see if it works on a car that doesn't work with Bimmercode?

ASS resides within the DME though. I dunno how a transmission tune is going to do anything.

Neither do I but it works for me. It also disables ASS in Eco Pro, which Bimmercode coding couldn't ever do on my car.

Sweet! Definitely can't disable ASS with ID7 with simple coding like you can on the ID6 cars.

Hi,

Try coding it via the "EXPERT MODE" in Bimmercode. Sometimes Bimmercode & ProTool on smartphones & tablets doesn't work the way you want them to work, that's why it is recommended to do the coding via e-sys.

Roll back any manipulations you made via Bimmercode or ProTool for that particular module and try the following;

DME/ENGINE CONTROL UNIT --> EXPERT MODE --> TCM_MSA_MEMORY --> Aktiv/on

Just turn off your car with "Start/Stop" deactivated via the button underneath the "Start/Stop Engine" button. It will remember it for the next time and will be automatically deactivated.

Be aware that this function causes a lot of stress on the timing chain, starting-motor, car battery and a lot of other internals. Long story short this function really sucks

Hope this helps you out.

I've never had an issue with BimmerUtility and my phone. It's been as stable as esys/ISTA, etc. Super impressed with that piece of software.

I do have it but, not used it as much as Bimmercode and ProTool.

I believe that it is indeed more trustfull than any other applications for mobile devices beucause of the fact that they don't use the cheatsheet method for coding. You just need to know what to manipulate for certain things.

These cheatsheets sometimes do not work on some of the cars due to trimmed cafd's I think.

I'd like to find a complete cheatsheet to enable VLD/Anti dazzle. Trying to piece together one myself lol.

Apparently it's pretty complex, but it would definitely be nice to have the complete steps.

Do map updates with FSC override existing coding?

Hi peeps,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Does anyone know if the map updates override any other coding done to the vehicle?
New (to me) G30 and it's got a lot of options - I'm not sure which (if any) have ben coded in or are from factory at this stage, I downloaded (from BMW) the latest map but obviously don't want to override any other coding that may be present.

No, it doesn't. REMEMBER.... the OTA updates are regional only; it's not a full update.
