My car came from factory with 20" 245 front and 275 rear Pirelli PZero RFT. When it was time to replace, I went with non-RFT Conti DWS06+ (Y rating). That improved the ride quality and took some of the edgy-ness out of bumps.

I then went with new 19" wheels and tires, going with a square setup this time. 255/40 all around on Crossclimate 2 (V rating). There was a tradeoff - less agile feel for a cushier ride. Now I don't worry as much about hitting expansion joints on overpasses.

My car came with Pirelli P7 A/S RFT and they were horrible. No grip dry or wet, noisy, rough ride. Had them a year before going with go flat Michelin PS AS3+ till they wore out and followed by AS4. I have the optional spare so wasn’t worried about go flats. Other runflats may be different from those Pirellis but I also had Bridgestone Potenza rft on an F30 and they suffered the same issues. So for me no more runflats ever.

Can you or one of our European friends post an image of the half load pressure sticker on the door jam or from the EU owners manual page? Curious how it compares to my US version.

Interesting. I run 35/38 by default on my M550i. Didn't know it exactly matched half load.

Thanks Chappers! It appears from this I should be running 35/38 on my 19” AS tires at UK half load. This is the same in front and lower in the rear. My 2019 owners manual recommends 2.4bar/35psi front and 2.8bar/41psi rear for the same tires. TBF, the US owners manual has about 20 different recommendations depending on wheel/tire size and H, V, Y etc rating.

No worries

I run mine a little lower than the recommended 2.4 bar front & 2.6 rear for 245/40 & 275/35 nineteens as there’s only ever me in the car.

LCi cars have different pressures for half loads, no car with me today so I'll post mine up when I get back home.

So you end up buying new wheels and sold the originals. Do you have a before and after pictures?

I kept the original wheels in case I ever decide to go back as I really like the looks of those 759 wheels.

Those pressures seem really high, like riding on rocks. Do you go by these recommendations or use lower pressure? I guess it also depends if you’re on runflats vs go flats. I’ve been running go flats on my G30 for about 5 years.

I just moved to the G30 after 20 years of various 3-series. I've always had great success with the Continental DWS06+ tire. (2023 CPO 530i with only 15K miles in Arctic Racing Blue)

I'll be putting them on the car once I save up to pay for them

Going PS4S (non-star, non-RF) when the summers go back on. Though the latest F1s also interest me.

Have PSS on the M2 Comp, but I think the improved rain performance will be useful on the 5er, even if you lose a bit of precision in 7-8/10 driving.

Would avoid Conti. Have always had issues with them, and they almost always place low in comparisons. SC 7s seem to be a bit better though, so maybe worth a try. I dunno.

Whoa. That is the nuttiest country-specific chart I have seen so far. Half load pressure for 19s with summer rubber is 2.4/2.4 here in Germany.

And eco pressures are 2.9. Yours says 3.3!!!

I can't imagine driving the car at anything above 2.2 with a half load.

The amount of eco-related government intervention on this stuff must be off the charts. UK roads are horrible. I cannot imagine 3.3 fucking bar on a British B road.

I had RFT and yes they were set at 41psi when I got the car but I ran them at 38psi still really hard, hence the wheel / tyre damage I suffered.

My go flats are at 38psi at the moment but feel this is still too firm so am 'playing' with the pressures. What I have noticed is that the go flats warm up far quicker than the RFT.

Bit like solid rubber awful.

I hadn't really considered the differences in pressures in different countries or from earlier models to any degree but now you mention it I think you are right about the 'Eco-related' measures. Mine is LCi so has MHT and comparing with Chappers 71 pre LCi pressures there's a fair difference, so can only guess they've upped the readings to improve rolling resistance.

If you're running 2.2 half load my 38psi relates to 2.6 bar so there's some scope for my adjustment. Are you on 19's or 20's though? I'm on staggered 20's

In summer, staggered 19s. Sticker pressure here for half load and 20s is 2.4/2.6. Try dropping by .2 bar. If you have the F1 runflats you could go lower, too.

Pirelli AS3 Plus. Once you get those RFT ‘s off your car, it’s just a way better experience. I should have earlier.

Thanks. I ditched the F1 RFT's now on Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3's

Seems to be a lot of variations in pressures for what are very similar cars.

I'm on 2.6 in the rear so will try the 2.4 front combo first then the 2.2/2.4 to see, will report back.

Ventus S1s are a good tire. I generally like Hankooks.
