Fitted the Auto Tecknic F9x Dry Carbon Air Scoops to my 540ix today. These are suppose to introduce a 'Ram Air' effect by utilising the natural motion of air intake - giving improved air flow and a cooler engine bay.

I was also able to open up the other side where the air duct is blocked off... if anything it should help with air flow in the bay

Yup! They do come with a long wire to connect the trunk light to the body light so that the sequential turn signal flows from one to the other. Fit and finish are great. I've heard some iffy things on the ebay and amazon ones so I figured these might be a bit better. I've bought other Bayoptiks stuff for my 135i and was always happy

Does the kit come with OEM or aftermarket gutters or did you buy those separately?

I think if I went the knockoff route I would use Bay Optiks as well.

Comes with aftermarket weather guards. I did move the oem plastic retainers over as the aftermarket ones were really brittle. We got rain last night so I checked this morning and things seemed to be good. I am still going to order the oem ones and swap them though. Figure for that cost it's worth the peace of mind

Earlier today, I coded Reduced Oil Change Interval on my '17 540i down from 30,000kms/24 months to 8,000kms/12 months.

Very easy to code in using E-Sys using BimmerDoc guide video.

Had the trim wrapped in clear Damascus PPF. Originally swapped it all out to gloss black but ended up not really liking it. Love how the PPF turned out.

Also swapped out the rear diffuser.

Got in new wheels so I wanted to see how they'd look with the M Sport calipers behind. It appears I've got some uneven pad wear that I'll have to sort out when I get to doing the suspension and mounting the wheels. Happy with how the wheels look so far though

i wound down my windows to hear exhaust noise and after a while i realised the noise came from the speakers whether in reduced or sport engine sound setting!

i gotta get my resonators deleted one day!

Luckily, these were not enabled for Australian deliveries.

You can code that off. I did a long time ago. In addition to being able to hear your real exhaust, it improves the audio as well as the speakers aren’t competing for bandwidth instead of playing video game sounds behind the music.

Had a warranty inspection yesterday to look at my creaking sunroof, the seal was found to be hard and needs to be replaced which isn't covered under warranty. Sunroof seals and mechanism was cleaned and lubricated which seems to have cured the issue. For now anyway.

I-Step updated to the most recent version which resolves the issue with bluetooth and CarPlay dropping out under iOS 17.5. It also means i can enable windscreen CarPlay with Bimmerutility.

Sounds like good news for the most part. What warranty wouldn’t cover the new seal? Factory, CPO or third party?

I hadn’t washed the G31 for four weeks so gave its rinse with the power washer, a two bucket ceramic wash then a rinse & MF towel dry when I got home today.
I may pop out to my garage laters & maybes give it a ceramic polish & clean some other bits

Added a front lip today. Super easy install (had access to a lift). Not sure if I’ll keep it, but it’s kinda neat.

i actually find the M550i LCI fake engine noise intoxicating lol, i tried to hear the real exhaust to hear how it compares but couldn't

i have plans to tape a mic (or 2) to the bumper and connect bluetooth audio to the car to hear what it sounds like

unfortunately i have refrained from the resonator deletes because i don't want to attract cops

thanks, i did that on my M340i and somehow (probably due to other coding adventures) i was unable to bring back the fake noise and the car became so dead to me i sold it

i don't want to make the same mistake with the 550's intoxicating noise, not sure how the pre LCI sounds like but the LCI fake noise is better than the real exhaust lol (at least to me)

there are 2 settings - reduced and sport, reduced is very subtle. i did consider quality of the stereo but the stereo is wrecked by the tire roar so i don't think i'm losing detail to the ASD, it's all destroyed by tire roar, we have terrible roads where i live. (they build them with something called "chip seal")

Just finished ceramic polishing the bonnet, roof, glass & wheels, gave the tyres & vinyl ACS rear bumper protector a coat of tyre dressing & wiped down the engine bay plastics.
Gonna save polishing the rest of the G31 & cleaning the interior for another time.
