The rubber inserts on the driver door handle was coming off. I was looking for a replacement option, but it was mostly like for like door card, which was frankly out of my budget range. So I found these plastic based door handle insert, which inseet inside door handles and cover the cheap rubber completely …

With snow in the forecast today and colder temperatures arriving, the BMW will be hibernating until it rains for a few days. I am sure the state/city will be tossing salt all over the roads with freezing temperatures.

I cancelled it on the M550 because it sounds like shit and sounds better using the SiriusXM app via Carplay. I pay for it on two other cars, so I can use it digitally on the M550.

Interesting you say that because I noticed that even the Spotify app on the car sounds worse than streaming it though the phone app

Yep, in terms of sound quality, the SiriusXM app in iDrive left a lot to be desired. So much I never used it. Plays 90% through the front speakers and was less than FM quality at that. For fun, I fired up the SiriusXM app in Carplay and found it to be almost on par with Apple Music. Kicks really hard. That was it. Plus, the interface is easier to use than the clunk one in iDrive.

Nothing sounds better than lossless music files on a USB drive or the cars HDD, but for streaming, nothing beats playing directly from Apple Carplay.

Today I tore off an underbody panel at 198KPM/123MPH. It was not a very good experience, especially before I was able to discover what was making that noise.

Make sure to re-install ALL the fasteners and repair the expandable nuts if that's the reason you didn't.

I tend to stick with stock wheels or BBS if I am feeling saucy, but you can't ever really go wrong with a nice set of snowflakes.

There are a handful of designs I like that aren’t OEM and this design looks really nice on pictures I’ve seen. I think there are a few wheel companies producing this exact look. I think I’ve seen HRE’s like this. Reminds me of the F90 CS wheels. Put some nice soft summer rubber on them.

Speaking of SiriusXM, if you guys are feeling crafty, there used to be a method to get Sirius re-activated for several months at a time by using a certain Sirius tool available in the App Store meant for dealers. When dealers would give you 3-6 months of Sirius for free when buying a used card from them, they used this tool.

You just had to enter in the radio ID and it'd activate. I had done this on my 08 E60 a few years back, just to try it. It worked.

I don't know if they patched it but I learned about it from Reddit.
