What are your first impressions of the switch to the staggered setup?

Bob - what adapter do you have? You could buy a code reader app from the app store that works with that adapter. If you let me know which you have, I'll find you an app that works with it. Bimmerlink definitely would if Bimmercode does, but maybe there is a cheaper reader app out there. (full disclosure, I have no idea how much Bimmerlink costs).

Alternatively, you can stop by your local auto supply chain and they will read it for free and print it out. Every BMW owner should have a code reader though.

When I first got mine, everyone was doing a Cerium delete. I never looked at Cerium as Chrome. I am so glad I didn't do it. The only Cerium I removed was a grill replacement to the M Performance Gloss black one as I thought the Cerium on the grill made the grill too prominent. The other thing is that the M550 has several distinguishing traits from all the other 5's, Cerium being one of them, including M550 only 668's.
Agree totally. Cerium is m-performance only, the 668's gunmetal blends perfectly with it and gives the M550 a distinct look. You can tell the designers were going for a certain character. I've kept all my cerium and have no intention to ever change it.

None yet . Have only driven about 10 miles and Discount Tire had the pressures all over the place. It could take a while as I generally just putt around town anymore. I'll pay close attention next time I hit the curves.

Thanks Joe--I have the OBDLink and as I look at it it appears to have code reading ability. I will try to connect it sometime soon and see what I come up with. BimmerLink is $39.99. --Bob

Well I pulled codes and got the grill shutters (PO5A2) and a cruise control code (PO581). I have the TSB on the extended grill shutter warranty (dated 10/30/2020) but it does not seem to include my 2019 540xi, only 2017 and 2018. Does anyone know if there has been a further update to include my 2019? Also I am not familiar with the cruise control code. Thanks, Bob

I went to my local Chase Bank and got a cashier's check to pay the car off. Paid it off in 2 years.

Never taking out a car loan again. Only took out a loan for the 540 to build my credit. Now we'll see if I can find the perfect spec E90, E92, or F80 BMW M3

Good job on paying off the finance

I get your want for an M car but maybe consider getting an F22 m240i, the B58 is bullet proof, add a tune & it’ll be all the fun you’re gonna want. It’ll be reliable & reasonably inexpensive to run as a daily, plus the tech will be a lot better than the e series.

You've got a good head on your shoulders young man. When I was your age I had the most expensive car I could (not) afford the payment on with enough money left over to chase chicks. The car usually helped get them. No money in the bank, but I was happy.

Yesterday I replaced my stock center console with an AliExpress ambient lighting console. Took about half an hour to complete the task. Only tools required are Torx 25/27 and a small interior pry tool.

I think it looks great. Only drawback is I loose some of the wood grain for more piano black.

Picked it up from the dealer with another issue after getting the original issue resolved.

I got the transfer case replaced which left me without a car for a month as a result of extended warranty delay plus having to wait for the transfer case to arrive from Germany.

Now the car drives fine, but the lock/unlock audible sound is gone despite being enabled in idrive and the car makes a strange noise under load.

Nahh I've always wanted a E9x M3. We'll see what the future holds.

Gotta find a new/better job first. Tired of this sales gig

There's nothing like a screaming V8 under the hood. You have good (expensive) taste.

I've had my eyes on E9x M3s for a while. But, the 540 would have to go. I don't think I'm ready for the huge hit I'll take selling the 540 so, yeah. I guess I'll be keeping the 540 until I don't care about the hit

What car was it? I could care less about chicks. I don't know, I never really cared to show off my "wealth". Hence why a couple of weeks ago, I thought about selling both cars (the Beater Accord and the BMW), Buying a 25 Accord Touring Hybrid, and calling it a day.

Told my brother-in-law that and he went to my sister and said, "Either your brother has turned gay or is going through a mid-life crisis"

Don't know about touring/hybrid specifically, but the new Accord model I've seen on the road looks very nice.

I think they look okay. The Accord Touring is the fully loaded trim level. I got my sister a 2023 EX (middle trim) non-hybrid before she got married.

That thing is a pos. 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo paired to a CVT. For $30k~ otd. No wireless Apple car play, no blind spot, no rear HVAC vents, and the rear head isn't even adjustable. The cars fit and finish is crap IMHO.

She could've gotten a loaded 9th Gen Accord for less than that with more features. Or even a couple-year-old Lexus. But, she didn't want leather seats and it was harder negotiating on a used car so new we went.

Here is the Accord I was looking at:https://www.schaumburghondaautos.com...CY2F87SA007492

I think I was at $38k otd. Seemed like a lot of money for a Honda

The prices on these newer Hondas and Toyotas are unbelievable. But then I read somewhere that the average price of a new car in the US is now around $30-40K. That's nuts.

I thought I was high when I found out the new toyota camry starts at $30k. $30k for a base model is wild.

MSRP on my 07 accord EX-L V6 that's the top trim for 07 was $27k. Idk man, hopefully things start to get better soon or when I get older (I'm 25 right now) I'm screwed.

I just need a new job. That's what I'm worried about right now. The job market must suck. I've applied for over 50 jobs. Had like 4 interviews.

I hate wasting my whole entire day sitting around waiting for a customer to walk in the door and hoping for a sale. If I can get back into management, that would be nice.
