Hi, just coded my first G-series today. Connection established and it listed 34 ECUs so I guess I'm all good so far
Managed to find some of the things we wanted to change but not all of them, maybe you guys could help me with sorting this out? *M-logo in cluster - Only found different specific model logos, there is no basic M-logo? It has 6WB *M-logo iDrive - Success I think, worked the first time but the second time the "Hello" message was back? *Start/Stop memory - Success, found in DME module *Sound Signal Set - Found the parameter and changed it but didn't try it out *RDC Safety - No difference, still only the pressure reading, is there an additional value that has to be changed? *Disclaimers - Success -Fog lights with welcome lights - Is this possible on the G-series? I also had some problems with reading the BDCBody, with no cheat codes checked it only showed the HEX values and no translations. I guess this is the ECU where I will find lighting codings? This was the first time I used the Cheat codes, so maybe I'm missing something. Would appreciate any help I can get Thank you! |

Separate question about all this coding, do you lose it if dealer does a software upgrade? Updated. I see you kinda answered Apple question with media box but does car have physical video connection? If I wanted you to do some remote coding, what hardware/software do I need to get to allow this? THANKS

Just ordered a UniCarScan BT adapter and purchased BimmerCode and BimmerLink. Looking forward to disabling that auto/stop/start crap. On my 2017 X6 it would start with the same setting as when the vehicle last stopped. On my 2019 M550ix it defaults back to on every time I start the car regardless of the status when the vehicle last stopped and it's annoying AF.
All of this will be worth just it just to enable that feature! |

FYI, I was able to use the Carly app to get rid of start up iDrive "OK" acknowledgment.
Close the trunk with the door button. //M start up screen on iDrive. Really want to close and fold the mirrors with the key fob but didn't see it. .

I note when reading these posts that a lot of things you guys want to code on or off using BimmerCode or some other 3rd party device are, in the Australian builds are standard adjustments in iDrive. Fold mirrors on locking, enable / disable horn on locking / Unlocking, auto close roof in case or rain, use standard keyfob to raise / lower windows etc.
The only things I want to code out in my G30 are so called safety items such as " I'm not a idiot and will look at the road instead of the nice nav screen when driving" and the very naughty "Video in Motion". Almost all of the options discussed in this thread are in iDrive already. Seems strange that BMW in the US or EU would want to dictate the default ( and unchangeable ) settings for such petty options as to how the wing mirrors behave on lock. The ability to change these "petty" things should be just in there. Then most people wouldn't bother going off to coders and while they are at it, disabling seat belt warning or other items that (IMHO) should never be touched. The only reason I can think of to prohibit permitting the owner to change these petty options is, some muppet someplace got a toe or something caught in the wing mirror and sued BMW NA so they now locked it out. |

I didn't see that as an option. I think they're still working on other modules. At least I hope they're still working on other modules.

I see you have trouble finding a good place for the hang tag like me. Don't want it to block camera or other things so I don't leave it on mirror like I used too.
