Yep, nice color.....I see this on a 2021 M550i I've seen driving around locally and was wondering if it was nardo or something similar but it was probably this. It definitely looks nardo-ish to those not versed on colors (which I'm not).

Curious why the steering wheel layout on the LCI is different. Same exact shape. Just moved the buttons around. Lol seems like a waste of R&D.

I'm coming out of a Bluestone 5 series. The bluestone is more cool blue/grey. Bernina is more brown.

The M550i is a beast. As expected, gas mileage is fairly low in the city with spirited driving, but I'm impressed with highway mpg. I'm getting about 26 mpg, which is not bad for a car with so much power. The suspension is by far the most compliant I've had, even though I had the DHP on other models. Mine came with the Pirelli P7 All Seasons, as I really don't take advantage of the "performance" set, and I prefer having a square setup which can be rotated. They also tend to last about 20k miles, which is way better than what I was able to get out of the staggered sets in the past.

Interior is the same as prior 5s I've had except this has the ID7, which I was used to from my wife's X5. Overall a nice upgrade, but there's nothing really earth shattering.

I've coded NGHB and LVD and a bunch of other settings already. Seems the active driving pro is slightly better than the prior gen.

I threw some 303 Graphene on there too. Pretty easy to apply. Doesn't really make the car very slick to the touch but it looks good and it'll protect it for a few months at least.

Also installed my Max 360c and Blackvue cameras in there. Very happy with the result as it looks very clean. The 360c is wired to the mirror with a mirror tap and it's on a Blendmount mirror mount. The Blackvue cameras you can't see since it's hidden behind the mirror. SunPass transponder was painted black and it's on the right side of the windshield, once again out of my view.

Tints are 5% all around. 3M Ceramic. Clarity is very good. They have a slight brownish undertone as well, so incidentally they do match the paint in certain lighting conditions. I think they match the car very well, especially with the black rims and shadowline package.

The matte ash wood is also nice. I'm surprised that a lot more dealers don't order it on their cars. When I was making the decision to order I couldn't find one that had it so I could take a look at. It does have a hint of blue, but it's awesome at not being reflective and not picking up fingerprints. I also got the Alcantara headliner and really like it.

I also installed the floating center caps (OEM).

Overall, very happy with the way everything turned out. I probably should have gone with the ceramic controls, maybe in the next one...

Congrats on the car, love how it changes with lighting. Currently in a Bluestone 540i moving to a M550i when lease is up this year. Brenina Grey is definitely a front runner for me if can't get the individual colour I want.

BTW any way to change the title of this thread to Official Brenina Grey Thread? Just a thought since there isn't one yet like you stated.

I was thinking about an individual color, but honestly didn't want the extra wait, nor the extra payment. I would have probably chosen Donington if given the choice... Alas, only the M5 gets that as an option, and frankly didn't want to spend extra for an individual color when I was leasing the car.

This is where I think BMW missed the opportunity to capitalize on colors if they could just expand their selection of $1950 colors. Better yet, how is the 5 series not offered in silver?

Absolutely agree. Was surprised there wasn't more $1950 options. I thought perhaps it was due to COVID as there are whispers of that on the G20/22 forum. I'm not completely happy with spending the extra cash but for me the benefit outweighs the cost since it'll be a 3 year lease, really want to enjoy it and not "settle" at this price point. Also hoping they'll give it to me for the $1950 since it's a current priority 1 individual colour. Thinking we'll start seeing more available individual colour options when the MY22 starts popping up. Donington is a nice choice have seen a couple M550i opt for that.

Living with a bernina grey 5 series LCI for a couple of months and absolutely in love with it.

Upon configuring the car this color was immediately discarded because the way the configurator renders it, is highly inaccurate.

Saw a video of a bernina grey 5 series by chance, liked it, and changed the car order from carbon black to bernina.

Never, ever in my life had compliments about a color (always a black, dark greys, dark blue guy) and suddenly people approach me because they love the color - some even say the car is ok, but the color is what really makes the difference.

Couple of days ago a guy with an Audi asked me what was the color name/ code because he wanted to paint his car exactly with this color

Yeah I was originally going to get Bernina Grey, but I convinced my salesperson to give me a good deal on Tanzanite Blue, so I ended up going with that. If I didn't get the deal, Bernina Grey would be a great color I would love to live with, so it is really up to your preference.

In the US, BMW M550i does not get the Touch Climate Control that Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East gets. It is only standard on the M5 and the 7 Series in the US. Does anyone knows the order code? Thanks!
