I won't buy one. Frankly, if I can't get manual transmission in a 5 series, I'd buy a Mazda 6 with a manual and a fun and sporty two seater or a coupe.

There must be some psychology in auto marketing that leads car companies to grow models with every generation, because they all seem to do it. I'm sure a modern Honda Civic is larger than a late 80s Accord was. Toyota Camry, for sure. Original Ford Explorers look tiny to me now.

Almost no G30 updates at all recently, all very quiet, compared to the hysteria over in F87 M2 land? Surprised there's not more questions or test mules out there?

Well I think because its so far off and any info right now would just be speculation.

April 23, 2015 Update
The G30 5 Series sedan has hit the Nurburgring for the first time and we've got photos. It's also dropped a bit of camouflage compared to the first spotted prototypes.

Just imagine a smaller G11 and you have the G30, by the looks of this prot with production headlights.
Was hoping for the G generation to be much sleeker than that, given all that laser and oled crap. Guess I'll have to wait for the next one. |

are you sure its not just an e32 under cover? its definitely the size of the 740il.. i dont care how much weight you remove from it.. its losing how nimble the 5er use to drive. the e39 was the perfect size for a 5er and the e46 the perfect size for a 3er..

Looks large. Is that the LWB version or something?
The headlights are obviously taking a lot of design cues from the G11. I hope this doesn't just look like a 10% smaller 7-series.

New 5 series design prediction (as we all already know): Headlights will touch the grille. Possibly a side vent/slit (hockey stick style). iPad type iDrive screen with touchscreen and possibly gesture control. Everything else design-wise will be minor changes. Some reduction in weight for sure, which after options will be negligible.
