Just purchased a 520d 2018, hoping to get CarPlay on it but once I have connected my phone the CarPlay option does not appear.
I have checked the navigation version and it is NBTevo_y21432J.
Can anybody provide some guidance on steps that I need to follow please?

It depends, you know if the car came with carplay from factory? Unfortunately it's not only a software activation the car needs to have the wifi antena in order to have carplay.

I don’t think it did. It isn’t an option in the connected drive menu either. In led to believe that there was an option to activate it for around £300, but I don’t have that option. Looking to understand what I would need to do to get I added.

Sure there is a lot of people who retrofitted carplay, first thing you need is the wifi antena after that coding to activate it and then since you are already doing the coding for the antenna you could also do the carplay activation.

Ok, so first off get a g30 WiFi antenna and get that installed?

Yes I would do it that way get the antenna install it and then go to bimmer remote website I thi k they had an activation service for 60 dollars for carplay. There are ways to do it yourself with Esys cable and a windows laptop but not sure if you want to go the DIY route. Ive seen people who got carplay to activate without the wifi antenna but they end up getting the antenna because the connection is horrible without it
