Based on what I’ve seen online, I think you’re right about dusk. That bronze you see in pictures at dusk actually comes out during the day in person, but it’s harder to get in a picture.

Wheels are square setup.

Congratulations! That's a great find and a well optioned car. I think the 540 is nice but the M550 makes you feel special just about everywhere and at any speed. Well worth the extra money and also the effort to find the right one. Enjoy!

No, it was registered from new as beige,it states beige as the colour on the log book & therefore all other official paperwork. Don't know if that just a British DVLA thing. What colour is stated on your log book, does it list the colour as Champange Quartz Metallic?
For example If you go on UK AutoTrader & look for beige Bmw any CQM that are for sale come up, usually 4 series.

Personally I don't mind it being called beige as I kinda like the reaction you get when someone sees it after you've told them you have a beige estate car...but I do agree it's not beige or at least not my, or indeed most people's idea of beige. But it is an excellent colour

My first BMW was an E30 that was Cinabar Red. At the time (1987) a very popular BMW color was Bronzit. Very similar to your Beige, Bronze, Taupe car��. I like Champagne Quartz Metallic as the best description.
