Love this design style, even with all the haters angry because it's not too drastically different. I think they have room to step up their game with certain finishes and materials, but you have to admit they still mostly cater to their base and you can't fault them for that.

I like the look of the g30 more and more, every time I see it. however, the M badge on the fender needs to go. I have never agreed with bmw putting M badges on non M cars. to real enthusiasts M badges on a non M are a big no nobody, so why is bmw doing it themselves. yes, I drive an Msport, but if I had the choice my door sills, steering wheel, and wheels would not have an M badge, it's an Msport not an M

I like most about it, nice "evolution" design on exterior.
I mentioned in another thread, I wish dashboard was more modern redesign rather than another "evolution" on what I feel was already dated look of dash and center console. That steering wheel, and this is subjective of course and just my personal opinion, does not belong in luxury German vehicle, regardless of the brand. Cheep looking plastic trim completely ruins it for me. Looks like something I'd expect to see in Honda Civic, not BMW 5 series. |

Stunning is really the only way I could describe this car. It looks amazing in gray too. The lines and the 3d hoffmeister kink really stand out in this color. I do have to agree that the M sport badge on the side looks incredibly cheap. One of the reasons I love BMW is that there really haven't been many/any badges on vehicles with M sport packages. That's something Mercedes and Audi do.

If anything, BMW is late to the game with its performance branding if you ask me. Why do you think there is now a 230i, M240i and M2. Soon, I'm sure there will be a 330i, M340i and M3. They simply have to follow the trends just like everyone else in order to remain competitive. And if that means that the larger engine model becomes more of a midway point between the base model and an M car like Mercedes and Audi have done, and even BMW with the M240i, than isn't that better for all of us who enjoy driving? If you don't like the M badge on the side, take it off. But let's hope that BMW planting that badge on there means they are actually taking some measures to make the car a little better. Even if that means a thicker steering wheel, stickier tires and some additional air intake. ($.02 from an e46 owner with zero M badges) |

Nothing changed, so I don't know why people are complaining about.
For as I'm concerned they can make whatever they want and put their badge wherever they want as long as M3 and M5 are some of the best and quickest cars on the market. Real BMW enthusiasts will always know the difference, while those less interested or with less money would still be able to enjoy a small piece of the most powerful letter in the world. |
