Because firing someone is not as simple as it seems. These days you can't just say you're fired, there has to be a reason or you can be slammed with a lawsuit. So the hospital did a full investigation on the video and probably looked to dig up and possible fuck ups she might have had while working at the hospital. Then they threw all the cards they had at her once they gather all the evidence they could get their hands on. You want to have as many fuck up instance as you can get so when it comes time to play the Terminator you can hit them with a nice combo that they won't be able to talk their way out of.
