Is anyone else having trouble getting an exact status code from the BMW Genius 800 #? I just called to try and figure out where in the production process my car is and all they would tell me is that it started production, and that they weren't allowed to give out status codes...

HOW WILL I LIVE THE NEXT 3 WEEKS WITHOUT KNOWING???

Some people will def give codes....hey will tell you when it leaves the body shop paint shop etc...if u really want the codes just match where it is to the legend of codes

I asked a Genius rep today if I was still 150 and he said he couldn't tell me either. He just said it was getting a serial number which is the "status right after the one you mentioned", so 151.

Just wanted to say thank you to the OP. The F80 was my third BMW, second new one, and first that I ordered. This guide was extremely helpful in letting me know what to expect. The genius line was not as helpful to me as it seems to have been with others. I felt like there was a delay by a couple of days. Knowing the W&W and United Road info kept me ahead of any info my CA or the Genius line could provide. Thanks again, and I'll definitely be doing another ED hopefully for an LCI M2.

Damn you guys!! This is concerning me. I was hoping for delivery next week June 4-9.

Off loaded ship last Thursday, has not even made it to VPC. Really only 2 business days, with the weekend and holiday yesterday.

I was hoping it would get to the VPC today.
That may be way too hopeful.

It really varies. Sometimes it's same day, sometimes it's a week+. The other issue is clearing customs, which I believe is entirely out of BMW's control. A call to the Genius line might be able to shed some insight.

WW site says cleared Customs at 10:30ish this morning. I missed that.

Hopefully not at VPC long, my dealership is only 3 hours drive from the port.

I'd guess you're out of the VPC and at your dealer by Friday.

Who knows of any other trucking companies BMW uses to get the cars from the port to the dealership.

I'm not on United it seems.

Genius will not disclose company information.

But no.

I have given up asking the geniuses what's going on.

Just for kicks I called three times today and got three completely different answers as to where the car was, where it was going and when.

So... Who the hell knows, maybe I'll get her this week, maybe not.

Just an hour ago I was told it's already left NJ Port (not scheduled till tomorrow-- then to dealer)
So it's "left" there on the way to the Baltimore VPC for some work, or something or another.

But yet at 10am I was told it's been done everything since Wednesday.. Released to trucking company, for delivery to the dealer.

What am I missing... How difficult can this be?

After BMWNA approves one of the 3 initial dates you provided.

BUT... Don't buy anything, tickets, ect till you're about 21 days out.

Ask your CA for a screenshot of the status info. It should give you the exact status code & description of where the car is.

It seems like BMW told the Genius reps to cool it with the info recently, perhaps because CA's would rather control the flow of info.

BMW Genius won't give the shipping companies out anymore. I'm going to ask my CA later today if they can provide what truck my car is on, but does anyone on here know the main shippers BMW uses? I know there is one listed on my beginning of the thread but my car VIN does not show up. Thanks!

oh wait, nevermind, it left to port of exit friday.

oh shit, nevermind, it still hasn't left facility as of today.


no idea wtf is going on. bmw needs to get more accurate with their tracking. Multi-billion dollar corporation and it's literally a shitshow

Anyone know of a way to track a US Spec vehicle ordered through BMW AG? My dealer said it will not work with the BMW USA site for tracking.
