This reminds me of my favorite silly quote from this job field. "You never have to ask an engineer what he does for work. He'll tell you!"

Years of this exposure has only proven it lol

I've heard that one before. In my field of work....you have two types of engineers. Those who sit behind a desk all day working with theory, and then those who go out in the field and get their hands dirty and seeing how things truly work.

I'm the latter......I actually like the physical aspect of the work.

In all honesty, my dream job would be to own a restoration/mod shop.

I'm desk locked this year. I'm spending most of my time staring off into cognitive space and laying the grounds for our next project. I'm slowly moving it through solidworks and just testing the aesthetic and identifying problem areas. The following two years I'll be on my feet running around cleaning up problems with fitment, material sourcing, teaching the taco bell kids how to read blueprints and whatever else I have to do to see it through to production. I honestly wish I was building my own business in residential wind/solar application and installation. But I'm here for job security. 10 years to pay off my home and property and the economy never stays this good for long

Smart move. I hate to have any kind of debt. We finally have everything taken care of aside from the house, have a nice emergency fund built up....and we are attacking the mortgage with a vengeance!!!

Hopefully in the next 5-7 years depending on how my annual bonuses go, that will be wrapped up.

That's exactly how I feel. I financed my property for 15 years (owned for 1 and paid off 5 years of debt lol) and my home for 3 years. I'm dumping a large amount of my income into them right now so that I can feel liberated well before retirement age. I'm only 34 now, so hopefully at 45 I'll start working part time and doing more fishing and motorcycle touring

I only like the X5 and M5 from the current Gen BMWs... everything else is pretty whack... it was a cool brand when it was more niche but the moment the M sport everything era hit it lost its panache.

Figured I would have an open canvas for later if I opted for another as what I had done was your typical tribal "fad" work without a lot of thought.

I had both shoulders, and a piece on my right bicep that went completely around my arm.

So they would have had to been pretty big cover-ups.

Everything was black and gray, so those are they are the easiest to remove as they absorb the most light....but it also makes it the most painful.

Took 8 sessions.....each one lasting 45-60 minutes consisting of the smell of burning skin and pretty much 2nd or 3rd degree burns. Then the area is dressed and allowed to heal for about 10 weeks before doing it again.

I would walk out of each treatment soaked in sweat as it was intense. But now you can't even tell I had anything done. No scarring or anything....so pretty impressive they can do that.

Probably spent about $2K in total.

This was close to 15 years ago....so I'm sure they have improved the process since then!
