I don’t have a solution, but I’ve seen this several times and it’s always US lights on US cars. Who would have thought the Euros would be more stable.

I don’t have any intel here, but my gut feeling these errors and short circuits have to do with the Welcome lights throwing errors even when disabled.

The dealer technician told me he did not need to do any wire jumping as noted in some of the other posts (nor did he run a new wire in the car).

I don't have any errors and everything 'seems' to work fine but I just have 1 question - is the amber turn signal strip supposed to also go all the way across the lighting strip (above the reverse light)? If yes, does the jumper wiring (or lack there of in my case) have something to do with why it isn't working all the way across for me?
did you manage to fix this?

I know it's not g30 but g42 has a very similar bdc module so maybe someone can help me
I installed EU tail lights in my G42 US and connected four new wires from BDC to the rear lights (two to the turn signals and two to the fog lights)

I coded a few options in bdc to separate the brake and indicator lights

changed the parameters as below :

LIC_FEATURE_14 enable -> disable
LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_INDEX G42_US_code2 -> G42_ECE_code2
LIC_NIVEAU_OVVERRIDE_DATA_0 G42_US_code2 -> G42_ECE_code1
LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_PHYS_LAMP_INDEX G42_US_code1 -> G42_ECE_code1
LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_PHYS_LAMP_DATA G42_US_code1 -> G42_ECE_code1
LIC_EDGE_CUTTER_RULE_ASSIGNMENT G42_US_code -> G42_ECE_code

LIC_Version

Stock 0x02 0x14 0x0B 0X0C 0X8D 0X4F 0X02 0X04F 0X00
I changed it to 0x71 0x14 0x0B 0X0C 0X8D 0X4F 0X02 0X04F 0X00

And now I have two problems.

The first problem is that the indicator light flashes as if the bulb was burnt out.

The second: when I press the brake pedal, the light only flashes once with a weak light, but when I press the brake pedal and turn on the indicator for just a second, then the brake light wakes up and works as it should until I release the brake pedal. When I press the brake pedal again, I have to wake up the brake light again by turning on the indicator.

It seems to me that the BDC detects too low resistance by the single brake light and blocks the signal until I turn on the indicator. I think I have to code more options in the BDC, does anyone have any ideas?

I don’t have any suggestions other than to engage with Vic. It’s worth paying him $150 bucks. The guy is a master at coding these. He’ll have those working in 15 minutes.

So I'm ready to take the plunge and upgrade to LCI tails.

Does anyone know what's the best place right now to source Euro tail lights in the US? Most links in this thread are dead and Abul has his PM inbox full. Shipping straight from Europe is always a nightmare.

My car is euro spec, 09/2017 production date, also wondering if that's going to be an issue.

G30 Adapter

I used the adapter from these guys.
Its for European cars, saves messing with repinning, and if I want, I can easily swap back.
Maybe OK for US cars too, not sure on that.
