Step 2 plugs
E30 Fuel
Bootmod3 - using Protuning Freaks

I can't get anymore than 20PSI, is that why you got JB4 to control the boost? I need help!!!

Either get a custom tune or JB4, but yeah I did do JB4 to bump up boost. Would definitely advise getting a custom tune as you have turbos

Hi,

I do have a custom tune, with Bootmod3 using Protuning freaks, but the car does not go past 20PSI....Is that why you added JB4?

Who did the custom tune? Your tuner should dial the car in properly.

If you chose one of the maps from bootmod3 maps menu then it's not a custom tune

Sergey from Protuning Freaks did a custom tune. I might get the Jb4 to ensure boost is maintained. I should be as fast as your car was?

He really took the time out to dial my car in, and made sure the outcome was safe as well as breaking records !!.Draggy speaks for itself. 0-60 for me is 2.95 on stock 20 inch rims , full tank of gas , Flash only.
You are right where I want to be with my 19. What boost level are you at (psi or bar?) Did Jordan bring up water meth injection to keep it cool or was he happy with E30?

[QUOTE=Sheharyar_rr;24484864]Hey guys,

Thought i'd update you on my car. Since my last big post i've gotten a DME tuning stage 2 flash. Working with them was flawless, very responsive guys and answer all your questions promptly.

On top of the DME flash i had the JB4 installed to control the boost. Running Map 1 currently and this thing rips. It's very cold up here and I was skeptical on the gains at first until i realized this thing is spinning wheels in 2nd and 3rd is kicking the traction light on. Absolute animal

Before I get to that i'll give you an update on the gains on Downpipes alone for this car. Sounds quite a bit louder now btw

Flash only with and without downpipes

What's the need to use the jb4 since you have the tune? Isn't the tune mapping out when max boost is applied and such and that will be over written by the jb4? The DME tune is on the pricey end for flash tune pricing too.

Question time.

I’m going to bench unlock and OTS BM3 my June 2020 M550i as the first step in tuning apart from xHP.

I assume stage OTS for 93 octane is the correct map to use, but thinking it through, I know some cars from the Uk have secondary cats which mine doesn’t. Therefore is/should there be a difference in the state 1 OTS map for cars with/without secondary cats?

A European, Chinese or Japanese vehicle that has secondary cats may produce a little less power with the same stage 1 93 octane tune due to that secondary restriction.

There is not a different stage 1 tune for a car with primary cats and a car with primary and secondary cats, it's the same tune.

I assume it’s all about managing torque from launch? It’s clear that even in my stock car that there is sufficient torque to spin the wheels in 1st/2nd even on a prepped surface if the trans isn’t reducing it. This was with XHP stage3 drag mode. The car felt like it was skating and I figure if that the torque was managed better, instead of spinning, then 60 foots and times would drop. I do wonder though if it would need to be different for the street vs strip as they have different grip levels.

Yeah you're 100% correct, it is torque management. We have smaller twin scroll turbochargers and they produce a lot of torque. Me personally, I would prefer a full frame.

I tried different things with xhp and in the end all I adjusted was:

- start in second gear.
- reduced second gear torque from 1200 nm to 800 nm.

I have a pretty high horsepower vehicle, so I would never try drag mode. All it is, basically, removes all the torque limiters. As you can see on a stock car you were spinning in drag mode. I would probably blow the trans and transfer case in drag mode.
