Anyone have a full Dinan Exhaust on order with slipping delivery times?

I just went hoonin' around town with my windows down listening to the exhaust…trying to forget I paid $80 to fill up.

But that was sweet music to my ears!

No it's not exactly like that. Some people just want to buy the mid pipe and not the axle back. They have a disclaimer that says the mid pipe may not fit to the stock axle back, but I don't know anyone that's had a problem with that. Probably to get you to but the Dinan axle back. I personally want the Dinan axle back more than the mid pipe, but no one attaches the Dinan axle back to the stock resonator exhaust. That's just stupid. They go hand in hand.

My guess is this guy replying really doesn't have any intel, so I'm hoping he is wrong. I guess what irks me is that people make their decisions on stated estimated ship dates. The mid pipe is shipped and sitting at my shop. The order was everything together. If I want to cancel, I would have to pay shipping back for the mid pipe.

2nd week of May is the best estimate right now assuming the last of the raw material ETA's hold. Some SKU's (like this one) have had some nasty delays on certain components. =/

I think you may have read over the mid-pipe tech note blurb on the website wrong -- "Only confirmed to fit with the Dinan Free Flow Axle Back and stock exhaust systems. Fitment with other axle back units is not guaranteed." We gaurantee fitment of the midpipe with OUR axleback and the stock system but could not gaurantee fitment with other branded (non-Dinan or OE) axleback systems.

Thanks for all of this. The part about fitment was communicated to me by my Dinan certified shop when I was only thinking of getting the mid-pipe a year ago. He said he could not guarantee it would fit based on this tech blurb. Looks like he may have read it wrong.

I just ordered a Dinan axle back exhaust for the my 2019 540 MSport about a week ago from my local BMW dealer and they couldn't give me a date. His best estimate was first to order first to receive. Could be 1 month to 6 months, only time will tell.

Yep, my shop told me the same thing when I was just contemplating it almost a year ago. He recommended I just get in the que and if I changed my mind to just cancel for a full refund before shipping. I wish I took his advice. I do know that they are in production and being built as I type, but unless you are super lucky and they have more quantity than orders, you are probably waiting 6 months.

I am almost certain my axle-back will ship this week. Everything else is in hand.

Joe, was that from a cold start ? I assume it was. I listened a few times and was wondering does your car do 3 exhaust step downs on cold start ? I only heard 2, but that may be because you did a few revs.

Yeah, mine does the same thing, I just didn't wait long enough for the third step down which is the valve closing as it was in comfort mode like yours.

That's my project while I wait for it to get here. I bought a tripod just for this. I will take a bunch of variations including drive offs and drive by's this weekend if not sooner. Since it shipped today, I'm guessing I'll be bringing it in early next week for install. I have a tracking number but it's just the label.
