I get where you're coming from but the litigious nature of society that has people suing when they do ignore rules and get hurt (and juries awarding them $$$$$$$$$$ instead of carving "stupid" in their foreheads). Not to mention putting first responders at risk when things go wrong.

I'm looking to get Bimmercode but was overwhelmed with the OBD options listed on the BC site. I just want a simple one to do the coding but I have been burned in the past of getting the "cheapest and simplest" thing and then going down a rabbithole and then wishing I got something better.

Based on the list of compatible OBDs, which would you recommend? Does one offer a benefit of the other? Also, I use an Android phone and I know list could be sorted between iPhone and Android users.

All of the adapters listed are quality. I've used the OBLink CX with no issues but I upgraded to the MHD Black which is Wifi and far superior in terms of speed and stability. The only reason I switched was because I wanted to use another coding tool that only worked with MHD which works with Bimmercode too.

Not sure if this is a dumb question but do using any of those void warranty? Are the changes you make even visible to the dealer?

I'd be interested in turning off the auto start/stop without needing to press the button every time… but don't really want to dive into anything that may be frowned on by the service techs just yet
