Well, here we go...M550xi on order

Just finalized an order for a 19 M550xi for the wife when her lease is up in June. This will be her 6th 5 series since 1999, I cannot talk her out of them for anything, and have no regrets. Surprisingly, this is the first one we have special ordered, so far so good and a bit more exciting and we got a solid lease deal (11% off plus incentives and max MSD's). She could not pick an interior color until SHE found an M5 Individual sitting in the corner of the dealer lot after multiple client advisors said: "no way, we don't have any Smoke interiors on the lot". She was pretty happy with herself, as usual.

Azurite Black
White/Smoke/Black Full Merlino leather
Piano Black
Exec package
Parking Asst package
Active Assist Plus
Lux seats
Premium 2
668M wheels w/RFT's
Ceramic controls

I have already worked it out to get the car still wrapped in all of its shipping protection. I am an avid dealing enthusiast (OG fan) so it will get PPF in high impact areas and fully detailed wheels off/top to bottom.
Thanks everyone for all the pics, information and guidance. We are lucky to have such an active and informative forum here.

Now the wait and watching begins....and tons of pics of the car and detail process to follow in late June

I read online that MSD's were back only to east coast a few months back.

However, I am from Chicago and went to a few dealerships to purchase a 2019 M550. I inquired about the MSD and the first dealership told me right away that they are back. The salesman from the 2 other dealerships I went to had no clue and told me "no we don't do that anymore". I asked them to go as the manager because I was told by another dealership that it was active. They came back shocked, admitted that they were wrong and that MSD's are in-fact back and active!!

Congrats to OP, sounds like a beautiful build. I was able to get 10% off MSRP plus incentives
($3500) and got them to throw in the all-weather floor mats, wheel locks, nitrogen air in tires, and swap for a black kidney grill =)

multiple security deposits. It's a way of prepaying to lower your money factor/interest rate.

Still waiting to hear back from my SA on this. Have a 540i on order and would be great if could apply MSDs here in CA.

Anyone else tracking an ordered vehicle running into problems with the BMWUSA website? I looked today and our ordered M550xi was no longer listed as one of our vehicles and our preferred dealer was changed to another dealer in our city.

I called our sales advisor and he was concerned about it but I was able to reload the vehicle using our order number....just curious if anyone else was having similar issues out there?

No, can't say that I've run into that... and I'm checking hourly on either phone or desktop....

This is pretty fun to follow it through the production stages. It has been in the paint booth for about 4 days now. Seems like a long time for the exterior to be painted.

Boom!...its here. We pick it up on the 21st (our Anniversary)

I can't wait to get this thing detailed and on the road.

I will be doing any of the paint correction if needed, I will do Ceramic Coating (GTechniq CSL/EXO) including the wheels and CQuartz ceramic leather. Then off to get the front PPF'd and tint. Going to be a long but fun weekend.

She's a beauty. Enjoy. What tint and ppf do you plan to use?

I actually am not sure yet on either. I have been so busy prepping the garage, prepping the 535 for lease return, I have not done my due diligence on the tint/ppf, that is my plan today and will post what I decide.

Any suggestions out there?

The top of the line is suntek for ppf. I personally chosen Xpel ultimate as my installer of choice was not suntek approved. I do hear the new 3m product is amazing and has the industries best warranty. If your leasing they will all look good for 36 months.

I’m actually a huge detailing fan. And I suggest igl kenzo on the paint. The leather looks light I’d coat the leather while it’s clean and new.

I can’t wait to see your car in the sun. Love the color.
