Thanks for posting that last vid. First in class! Almost ten seconds faster than our first attempt there

Jackie’s polished skills in front of the camera are starting to shine! Especially loved the quip about “it’s exactly what we did, and it works” haha.

Thank you for posting RugbyBro

We went to Road America with pirelli DH scrubs and GTmore aero/brakes and suspension, did a 2:26. They were 8 seconds faster with another 250hp and 200TW tires in 285 square. 250hp more does not get you eight seconds when you're starting from 500!

New vid at Buttonwillow - was awesome to meet Pwurz & JamesClay. GTMore aero is certainly more substantial in person than pics!

Hopefully the BW crew comes to the west coast more often

watched the video yesterday - appreciated a lot of the insights Pwurz and JamesClay

I wish I could have joined you guys, missed opportunity...

Please come back to the west coast - and next time, add Willows Springs to your stop. The GTMore would like that track much more, yes...I am biased

It’s a rad car no doubt and yes it can more or less be driven on the street, but this comparison is just dumb.

Is there a written specs list of the car that's up-to-date? What spring rates are they running? How much does the car weigh at this point?

Not sure if the BimmerWorld page about the GTMore is updated

Weird - I was impressed with how similar it was through the corners at 600+ pounds heavier and without the stiffness the cage adds - two pretty critical factors. The bigger difference to me looking at the data is the braking. As the driver of the GTM, I can say for sure it was a matter of the GT4 having a manual pedal box with bias knob which helps on feel and setup. And ABS programming with different limits. I was also surprised with the moderate speed delta over the length of the straight - I assume weight mostly and to some degree the additional aero.

Not sure why it's dumb? We had a goal of the project - faster than the GT4 with a street car, so we compared to the...GT4. Probably way more relevant than a stock version of this car at 10 seconds slower?

It can absolutely be driven on the street, not "more or less" - we did it for 3,500 miles on One Lap of America, even after we stopped raising the front for splitter clearance. It wasn't subtle or mild, but the sound was way more tame than the GT4 because of the interior and sound deadening still intact. But (since it was in the teaser screen) Porsche 992 cars have front lift cups for added curb and gutter clearance and don't look mild either. I guess if you want mild there's an array of reasonably priced car options - Top Gear even highlighted the track performance of several.

Working to update the page. As tested:
  • 1,100 front and rear, coiled over.
  • 3914 setup weight (includes fuel and 85kg driver)

James, I’m not discounting that y’all built a monster of a car. Obviously you have the skills, resources, and the competence to build something fast.

I get it, BW is a business and this is a lovely effort to demonstrate the capability of the chassis with your various packages. It’s a strong proposition and as Jackie noted in one of the videos a winning strategy.

However, the notion of comparing one car with unlimited capacity for mods vs a factory spec car and then choosing a single lap to highlight the success. Meh. Idk, just not super impressed. Again substantial aero and >50% increase in power relative to the GT4. Just feels kinda obvious that this would be the result. My original point was, crank up the power on the GT4 and let’s see how this shakes out.

I’m not striving to be confrontational, it’s a forum and these are marketing videos. Very cool, well done, and a fun perspective. But it just doesn’t resonate with me. But there are plenty of folks that are obviously very excited! Kudos to all!

I'll say that I think it's very cool - especially for a track day / HPDE enthusiast. Well done Pwurz & JamesClay. There's so much potential in F8X so I love seeing where people are pushing these things.

Sure it's marketing for their products but the best kind, they're putting their products through the ringer. Can't say that most other off-the-shelf brands are doing the same at this level.

DRLane I get what you're saying though I don't think its meant to replace a GT4 class car. What I've understood is that it's meant to out perform within the context of staying street legal - which is directly applicable to the customer base (HPDE/Time Attack/etc.). I'm actually most impressed by the fact that they didn't cut weight and were closer than expected and even neck'n'neck in the corners with the GT4. Clearly driver skill is massive here too so I won't discount that. But yah, not trying to be combative here - just my thoughts.

I absolutely love it but hey I'm bimmerworld's target market, a middle age guy with a bmw and a track habit. Does it make any sense from a super technical perspective? No but from weekend track nerd perspective it's cool to see how far you can push a street car. I get lots of inspiration from the build and will be frequenting the online store. Give the marketing department a raise.

What's the ballpark cost of getting a bone stock F82 more or less the similar state that the GTMore's in currently?

Added up about $25k of parts on the GTMore catalog page ($7k from aero). Probably at least $5k labor to get all that installed. Then probably $5-7k for the additional power? Another $5-7k for the seats/cage/harnesses/interior strip/wheel. So $40-50k in total? When including the cost of the car, altogether still about half the cost of a 991 GT3 RS.

Would love to see this car and the Schirmer F82 GT (6:53 'ring BTG) duke it out at a TT event.
