Skyscraper grey
Shadowline
Black nappa (kids)
Executive package
Parking assistance package
Front and rear heated seats
Massage seats
Ventilation seats
Heating steering wheel
Dynamic handling package

Msrp 90695 - 7.500 miles monthly - 1185 (assumes brokers 4.25% discount) - 1200 after including fee.

~50 bucks lower without DHP if anyone was interested.
How many years is the lease over?

3yrs.
This is without MSDs as well. Can get lower monthly payment if you max those out, but given current rate environment you can take the same money and park it somewhere more liquid and earn similar.

I think a 85k car should have massage and ventilation, so with that said, I'll put them both on there. They will be cool to have and I have a bad back so I hope they add some value and not detract from comfort. But absolutely no one is reporting that they don't like their seats. So I think I'm pretty safe there. Will put cold weather on there for same reasoning, it should have it haha.

Drivers assistant- I never use cruise control ever. I just don't even think of it to be honest. And if it added any more beeps or warnings it would only just annoy me
Yup, good call on DHP. I think the car was designed to have it. Just that they broke out as an option to lower MSRP and sell it separately.

On Driving Assist, I'd think the auto driving features would be really helpful while commuting or going out on longer trips. It was a must have for me to get all the tech!

If you don't use cruise, then fine. I use DAP all the time and I really like it on long stretches where I can mentally disengage a bit. In heavy traffic, traffic jam assist is such a relief. I think the DAP also comes with collision evasion...thankfully, I have not needed it, but if you do a search you will see some cool stories on how it has helped prevent crashes.

Interesting, I'll look into it a bit more before locking in the final spec. Thanks!

My 2018 540 does not have any Driver assistance features at all. No blind spot, laser cruise etc. day to day it is no issue for me. However my wife's 2021 IS does have more dap features. I have to say on long trips I do like having the nanny's looking out for me.
Next purchase the DAP will be a must have.

I test drove two m550s, one without dhp and one with, on the same freeway. Dhp was most noticeable on a tight on-ramp, even at fairly low speeds. Feels much more planted. And I agree, and would go further saying that the car should’ve had it standard as an m-performance trim. But perhaps the mixed opinions on it demonstrates why it wasn’t.

For me, cruise control is most useful in stop and go traffic. It’s not a fun experience for anyone. Acc makes it tolerable.

What's funny is I use to hate traffic and get kinda pissed. Now I kinda look forward to it so I can lounge and relax

My 540 x drive M sport is my daily driver. It’s plenty fast and nimble. I’ve been sufficiently impressed. I also own some rocket ship fast sports cars and my 540 is just a pleasure and fine for all but the track.

Is the 550 more , sure but I did not feel the delta was worth tbe $$. For my use. When I feel the need for speed I own a. Apex predator.

You might be right with that opinion.

Something making it even worse…right now the broker discount is so much better on the 540 and the lease program is better too. This equates to about 275/month more in price just for the engine. This is comparing an absolutely loaded 540 (82k) vs 550(93k).

For driver engagement definitely. Pretty happy with JB + and no issues whatsoever. Butt dyno + 20-30HP perhaps

Does 82k include dhp on 540? If so I wouldn't get it, Probably Not needed just my opinion. Stock suspension on the sport is a great ride with 19s. And I think ride height is higher on dhp.

I think people say on the 550 it could be worth getting it due to weight distribution ??? But I'm not sure.

Yes it was with dhp. I have heard similar. Would need to research more! But that would only grow the payment gap!

I'm quite happy with it. Didn't want to go full on tune, just small bump in boost to enhance the stock tune. Car drives great

Forgot about about these types of modifications. I had a gti back in the day that I did this to. Compelling argue meant to just get the 540, get the awesome gas mileage, save 300 a month and close the 0-60 gap by a tenths maybe. Good stuff

I don't have any arguments against M550. Just want to comment that I did a small road trip in the 540 today. Had Dad in the car and he gets nervous, so I was in comfort the whole time. Had some two lane highway overtaking and it just doesn't hesitate at all. Change lanes and hit the gas and I'm gone. No flooring it, just get in it a bit and "see ya".

Fun cars all around. I'd like to drive a 550 to feel the torque on the low end and also feel the difference in handling.

I cannot recall exactly but I have the upgraded suspension (705 or 702) and it’s a big difference from the normal suspension in my
Wife’s 530 ix. Hers is way more luxury. Mine is not really harsh but it feels more aftermarket set up. It’s also about 1.25” lower and if I’m honest a bit more difficult to get in and out of for my aging body but boy does it handle.

Just to be clear. This is not the DHP option.

Reading as many posts as I can about the DHP on the 540. It seems that most are still very happy with the add on. The downside being a little softer and less predictable in say comfort mode.

I think I'm leaning pretty hard Yes on this. In my head, I'm stepping down in cost big time from the 550 to 540 which justifies putting every option on the car! As long as it doesn't actually make something worse haha

I didn't get it. Didn't think it was worth it. The sales guy said theres no way he would lay out the cash for it and he drives these things every day.
Should I just get this thing pretty stock then?

The only must haves are parking assistant and the rear sunshades in my book.

I'm the fence with all of these… I NEED this car, I don't need all the below and quite frankly I'm worried adding the seat stuff is going to make the seat firmer. I liked the Dakota seat in the 540.

Maybe that's the safest bet or just upgrade to napp and ventilation?

Take it or leave it?
Nappa
Massage
ventilation
Steering wheel
Rear seat heat
Leather dashboard
I have a 21 540 with nappa and the ventilated seats. (Non massage). Very comfy and don't feel any bulky spots.

I would for sure get :

Drive assist -use all the time
Park assist - very important with 360 cameras and the auto reverse has helped me get out of some weird one way driveways / roads.
Nappa leather - a must when spending higher level $ on a car.
Heated steering - if your in cold climates yes.
Spare-I'm 50/50 on that as takes up a lot of room but gives piece of mind even when having run flats.
Totally agree. I also thought rear assist was a gimmick, but I use it every day just to get out of my garage so I don't clip my mirrors. I've also used it to get out of awful driveways at night where I cant see anything. Nappa to me is a must. So soft and comfortable. I have massage seats. Because of my back, I get a lot of glute and leg pain on long drives. This totally helps me. I though the HUD wouldn't be worth it but I use that every day too.
Glad to hear the massage seats actually help you. I've got 2 lower lumber herniated discs and get awfully uncomfortable / pain in my x3 after just a few minutes in the car.
I have stenosis in my neck, thoracic and lumbar spine….many more surgeries in my future. People that dont have back issues think the massage seats are a waste, understandably….for me, its was a game changer and a must.
