I still think the S5 would beat the 335i in a drag!!
I bet it would nine times out of ten. It's a fast car. Insideline just got it to 60 in 4.7s. That's hellafast.

HAHA. Depends on how much you like the clutch in your 335. But with correct launches that do not harm the car, the S5 will be quicker. If you look at the vid again you will see that the s5 beat it to the first turn by a half of a car.

In short, the S5 is a supremely capable all-weather point and shoot luxobarge– that's as suitable for hunting M cars as a .22 caliber rifle is for shooting a grizzly.

some quotes from a magazine.

I love the style of the S5. It is a very handsome car. I hate the steering wheel.....but all in all a very nice car.
Someone please explain to me why people still believe S cars are going after ///M cars. That is what the RS line is for.

to the OP - u not crazy so no sense slapping urself. A5/S5 is very beautiful car. some don't agree but i would assume most would think it is. it's not as sporty and light on its feet like a bmw, but it's not designed to be. it's a luxury, beautifully crafted, sporty crusier.

Wait till the new A4 comes out, i'm sure u'll love it too. nothing against E90 man, but they sure aren't going to win any beauty contest. i have seen the pix on the new A4 and A5/S5 in person, they are head and shoulder prettier cars (inside and out) than any BMW rightnow. i'll probably will get flamed for this but hey, speakin the truth

IMO I think stock vs stock the s5 owns the 335i in the looks department. But a cosmetically modded 335i pwns the s5.

Don't get us wrong, we love our 335i's. Personally, I think it's a beautiful car (obviously). It's just that things are always greener on the other side ya know? There's always bigger and better things out there. I love the S5 for its looks and its noise, but it's not my kind of car. Trust me, I love my 335i.

Yup, the A5/S5 are beautiful cars - inside and out. But I got the 335ci because it's cheaper and 'slightly' more engaging I thought... and I had an AMG V8 before, so the 335i's TT i-6 is a nice change.

I have seen that there is a six month wait on the A5. Does anyone know the facts on wait time? I loved my 335 but am leaning towards more luxury, better mileage??? and I love the way it looks. The S5 is tempting but that rascal will gulp gas like mad with my foot on it. $60,000 is more than I want to spend too.
I had not had a speeding ticket for years before my 335. In one year I had 3. And I have a V1. It was so easy/fun to hit a 100mph in that car.
I built a black/black six speed with the milano leather, prem pkg and Bang Olufsen... $43,600. This is the TDI but the look I will probably go for more or less. Wheels, H&R's and tint. Any good facts on wait time would be appreciated.

A dealer here just called and said 2.5 month wait on the A5. He wants a $2,500 non-refundable deposit. He said people are ordering somewhat "off" color/option combos and then bailing on the deal.

Not sure on the six month wait. My stepmom just got a white A5 a few days ago. However she bought the one off the showroom floor. But from what the salesman were saying is that they are hard to get right now, so there might be a legit wait.

The A5 is most certainly a beautiful car. Interior is great, although i think a little busy with all the buttons on the shifter console.

Overall its a beautiful car now that ive seen one in my family's driveway.

^ They have one on the floor for demos only. Going today to try her out.
I need to research to see if there are some easy mods for the motor. I think 0-60 is tested at 6.3 or so. Sub 6 would be nice.

I just got back from the Audi dealer. I asked the service manager about lowering the car and he said they did not care and would not be an issue with the warranty. He then said he knows a company down the street that has a "chip" for the A5. I asked how many HP's it provided and he thought it was around 25-30 at the crank. Hmmmm. I think I am going to get one.

I dont think they should care about the suspension setups unless you have some problems with that and want them to fix it.
About the chip: I dont know much about new A5's but this "chip" seems to be something i dont really believe. I know that on b6 a4 3.0 chip would add only about 7-10 hp. Maybe it is true, cause of the new TSFI engines.

Around 10 hp makes more sense for a NA motor. Again, I think he was just guessing.

Why wouldn't you get the 2.0T? A chip will get you 50-60 chp, and there are several big turbo upgrades that can get you to over 400 chp with that engine. Check out GIAC and APR.
