Warranty extension

I have been quoted 596 for the warranty extension can you negotiate with BMW around this?
Is the warranty worth extending my car has 34000 miles it’s a 530d Xdrive

Whether a warranty is worth is really down to :-

Have you owned the car from new ? In which case you know how it has been treated

Your attitude to risk

Previous experience with bmws

For me personally I self insure as I have owned the car from new/ I'm not a high mileage driver/ only had 1 significant part requiring replacement on my bmws in last 20 years

So me it's a good risk to not pay for a warranty .no right answer here

That sounds cheap for a bmw warranty though , is that a bmw one? I thought they were quite expensive though

Maybe he got the numbers mixed up and he only had 596 miles on it and the warranty cost $34000

Joking aside 596 is cheap…. What are the terms of the policy….years/miles?

The warranty is £596 for the year with £250 excess.

I have owned the car from new and it currently drives with no issues I’ll probally do around 12k mileage this year but I do tow a caravan.

Clearly this is not a BMW warranty. So the question is how reliable this warranty is and how the warrantor replies to claims.

The devil is in the details. Who is the warranty through? What is the language or provisions, etc. More info please.

It can be very hard for us to translate UK to US. So the more details the better.

Like I don’t understand what excess is, for instance.

That would be $785 US - He's in the UK. Still seems cheap.

The warranty is with BMW and the £250 excess needs to be paid for any claim made.
