Price value proposition

I was recently quoted on a new 540 Ix m sport fairly loaded. 15k/36 months.
Wheel and tire insurance and wear maintenance.
Price comparison

2019 lease same terms as above with tax 923.00/month

2022 lease quote same terms as above 1295.00/month

I’m just not doing it. I don’t feel the vehicle is worth it. I know prices are up on things but this feels like a gouging to me either by BMW or the dealers (all). Am I wrong ? This is my DD and I do enjoy it but the pricing is driving me away from a new lease. Been in a 5 series 3 36 month leases in a row.

Will most likely buy out my lease. I’ve got a good extended warranty through 7/100k from date of purchase.

Absolutely agree. BMW marketing is taking advantage of public perception/fear of inflation, which simply does not equate to 25% price/lease increases. Nor do supply/chain or chip issues. I am in the same boat with my 2019 540ix coming due. And although I’ve driven BMWs exclusively since 1985, I’m taking a very serious look at Genesis’ offerings.

I saw one of those Genesis SUV's today and I swear I thought it was a Porsche.

That lease is a lot more than my M550 lease I got less than a year ago. This market is scary. I would just buy out your lease. The 2022 lease is the same monthly as financing the vehicle which would be the way to go if you had to have a new vehicle. Another thought is to sell your lease and throw your equity as a down payment on buying a vehicle instead of leasing.

That would be the wisest approach. We have been spoiled by our ability before the pandemic to get large discounts from BMW which, of course, translate into lower lease costs.

For a while, at least, this is the new normal.

Buy it out if it makes sense. Then like some others have done maybe change out the tail lights to the LCI ones. And if you have the silver pre LCI wheels then get them wrapped in black. Once done will probably look like a 2022.

Not sure where you live. My buddy drives a G80. Really nice product but service is a problem. He’s tried all the Dealers in my area and the issue seems to be there are only a few genesis certified mechanics at each Hyundai dealer. As a result wait time are long and also loaNers scarce.

I’m really happy with how my car looks. I don’t feel the need to dress it like a new model. I am cool with running my car how it is.

I just got used to getting a new car every 36 months plus it’s nice being covered by a worry free warranty. Oh well I’ll make it. Lol. I spend a lot time in the car for work and it’s been a nice perk.

Wow...the latter quote is close to what my boss paid for his loaded 2019 M550i when he leased it.
