I'm not ordering a car, but while we have this thread going… why will it let you choose sensatec dash with black or contact sesnatec but not with the beige? The beige is my favorite of those three, and maybe my favorite of all the interior colors.

The 2 features I can't live without: 360 cameras and Wireless Apple car play. I can do without parking assistance, but I think 360 comes with that package. I'm always watching how close I can park to the curb without scraping.

I have a 2021 and haven't checked if the package changed for Wireless CarPlay.
Do you have to specifically order Carplay ? I thought it was just part of I Drive 7 ? I use Android Auto and its just part of the I drive.
When I ordered my 2021 m550 the wireless CarPlay and android auto was included.

I just checked and it looks like it still is, and looking at the build I would get the Executive Package too.

Does that bluestone metallic look more blue or silver in person?

Yes. Depends on the lighting. it's like a bluish silver... or silverish blue. I really like the color; even more than my wife's (used to be mine) Carbon Black F10.

I don't want to completely jack the thread, but that color is so intriguing to me. I need to see one in person I guess. I also can't decide what interior would go best with it. When I was looking, I dismissed it as more of a light/baby blue-ish tint, which I thought would be too boring or mild. Now that I'm on here and see so many pictures, I think I was way off base. Seems like a great color that can a lot of ways as far as aggressive or mild styling and multiple interior combinations.

Nice car.

Nice car.
I personally like at a lot, but it doesn't sit in my head as an aggressive (M sport) color for some reason. We have one in the showroom with cognac sensa, and it's a nice combination on non M sport car. I would say if you are going with shadowline and black rims, then get black sensa, if no shadowline and silver wheels, then cognac. But hey, everyone is different

I would say don't think a lot, put that credit application in asap as the rates are likely going up on Friday. You are going to enjoy this car in any regardless of these small things

I want to love the cognac. Something about how it goes with all the black in the interior is hard for me to wrap my head around. I think maybe if it was a black car and there weren't too many different colors coexisting, it would hit my eye different. Black interior is classic but seems boring to me. Too much in the other direction. I think I like beige and ivory because you can slap it against almost anything.

The brighter the sun the bluer it looks. The darker the grayer. I love the color. many people ask if I got a new car if they
See it a night and then during the day.

Bluestone is one of those colours I think you have to see in the metal as brochures and photos can portray it differently

Here in the U.K. seems to be one of the less common colours chosen.

On overcast days it can appear more silver . Stunning when spotless and at the other end of the scale , hides the dirt well.

Suggest seeing in person to help you make up your mind.

I will chime in here and second the idea of 456 Multi Contour seats and the HUD. I sold BMWs for seven years in my "early retirement" period and I have had both since my 2010 535xi. Always recommended the seats to customers who were ordering 5 Series cars. You can always find a good seating position with the multi contours and I find the HUD indispensable on both my BMWs and my Corvette Z06. --Bob

I have the same color with the blue MSport brakes and with these rims, the blue calipers are hard to see. I don't really care because I don't see my tires when I am driving.

Last edited by SteveinArizona; 03-29-2022 at 10:28 AM.. Reason: meant to say rims; said tires instead. fixed.

Great build, however I would definitely go blue M Sport brakes if you are going with the Bluestone exterior. I would only do the red brakes if you're going with a black, white, or carbon black exterior.

Definitely do the Nappa leather seats. They are amazing in person and easily the most comfortable seats I have even been in.

What wheels are you going with? My 540i is blacked out. I'm not usually big on black wheels, but then work on this spec. They are 19" and the ride is very smooth.

I have the same wheels. In person they have a lot of depth to them and look real nice. Most Y spoke wheels I see are just flat looking. These have a nice design and looks sick

I agree! In the configurator they look a little blah, but I really love them in person as they have some movement and are pretty aggressive looking.

I have been back and forth on blue vs. red calipers. I was leaning as you note, with blue seemingly going better with the bluestone which I think I am pretty much set on given the depth and variability in the color depending on the light, and I like how a lighter exterior color contrasts with the shadowline accents and tinted windows. I do like carbon black as a close second and do think that color goes best with the red calipers and cognac interior (I have always had black interiors and want a change). Unfortunately cognac doesn't have nappa option.

my one concern with the blue calipers is that they don't stand out as much as the red. Granted this all comes down to personal preference but in pics I do like how the red stands out even with bluestone color. For others who have gone with bluestone and red calipers are you happy with the look in person?

I am going to go with the 19" bi-color Y spoke wheels. I personally like a mix of silver and black wheel vs. all back...again personal preference. The good news is, almost any spec I see I think looks great so aside from subtle subjective ranking i think its hard to go wrong!

Here you go, found a bluestone with MSport package and red calipers. It's for sale in South Carolina if you don't want to wait, ha.

Nice! thanks for finding and posting. That's the exact exterior spec I am likely going with. I like how the red stands out.
