Lmao Yea I will delete it, but I am really scared that the previous owner abused the car. the badge and grill are a red flag
You could buy a car health monitor. It plugs into the OBD port and tells you every little piece of information about the car's health.
Please elaborate…
AutotopNL has a sponsor on a couple of their videos but I forgot which ones, but it tells you which functions of the car are affect negatively, and I think some of them actually tell you how the it was caused (rough driving, fault part, etc.) which the car would not normally display to you.

I think that Carly was the one I was thinking of. I found it out from AutotopNL and I think that they were sponsored by Carly. It should work.

what would you recommend? my budget is 43k
I got my 2018 540 with about 30k miles as a CPO from a bmw dealer in my region (southeast). It was about that price. Not sure how the market has changed in the last quarter. I got mine the week of Christmas. I had the same budget and wanted: 30k miles, 2018 or newer, good service records, dark color (gray or black), preferably not black interior, and had to have driving assistance pro package. I found it on BMW's certified used site.

I think you can still get a 3-4 year old g30 with 30k-40k miles within your budget. Especially if you just have one "must have" and are flexible on most other things. For example, if you picked a couple of preferred colors and M sport, but you're flexible on other options and luxuries, then I think you can find it.

Also, I've gotten used to searching regionally. Look in big markets, if you're not in one. I'm in a small market for these cars. I got my wife's last two Lexus SUV's from Dallas because it's more competitive. I found my g30 online, 3 hours away, and paid them $250 to bring it to me and take my trade in back.

All these dealers are used to working online and over the phone. If you narrow your search and are ready when you find it, just be straight with them and the good ones will be straight in return. I don't haggle and BS a lot. I know the market by the time I'm talking to them. Instead of hammering them to save a few hundred bucks, I hammer them for details on the vehicle history and any imperfections that I can't see online. We had the deal done within 24 hours.

As far as the warranty, buying CPO would take care of that. And a dealer will always be willing to sell a 3rd party warranty. Just do your homework on it.

Most people don't feel the same way, but I love searching for and buying cars. Good luck!

Okay, I might not be able to get it and will keep looking. the car is on hold because someone requested test driving. however, the price is really attractive to me.

The thing I liked about the BMW website's pre-owned search tool was being able to filter by specific BMW packages. Certainly they don't cover all the BMWs out there, but it's a convenient way to search.

It's a pretty car. Pretty low miles. But it doesn't have the driving assist pro package. It looks like it has the 360 parking view and it says lane assist. What it's missing is the feature that lets you use adaptive cruise (where you set the speed but the car automatically slows to the pace of the car ahead) and the feature that actively keeps in the lane for you. You can tell on the steering wheel. The buttons are missing. Find one on the bmw website with those features, if their a must have, and check out the steering wheel. Then you'll know what you're looking for on sites like carmax. They are on the left side of the steering wheel.

Are you dead set on using carmax? If you're uncomfortable with a national search without the carmax benefit of getting to see it before you buy, I'd look at every bmw dealer within 100-150 miles and also use auto trader to see what other regional dealers have on trade in.

I have been looking at the car thru all the websites. I found the car that all the packages in it but the car has 48k miles. Do you think the packages are more important than the mileages?

I think that really depends on your priority. You can buy a warranty, just make sure you do some homework to make sure they actually pay up. I don't know your priorities, so hard for me to say. If you're keeping the car 3-5 years and putting 50-60k miles on it, I'm sure that's fine. If you're buying a 5-10 year car that you're putting 75-100k miles on, that's different. Some of the options themselves will be a risk to break at some point.

I like 30k miles as a sweet spot, so I was looking for 20-40k mile range.

From reading on here and elsewhere, I think buying one with 30k+ miles lends itself to the 6 cylinder in the 540 over the 8 cylinder. The in-line 6 seems to be a reliable workhorse that will give you plenty of power. But that's just my opinion. The 540 is a fast car. The 550 is a really fast car. Either way, you're not going to be bored.

I'm not sure I'd make the connection that the car was abused because of grill stripes and a fake M badge. As classless as the prior owner was, he just may have been fanatical about the car like us.
