2019 540iX. Start car in garage, listening to Sirius radio. Put car in reverse. Rear camera goes on and, immediately, the radio switches off. When I shift to drive it seems that the software automatically connected ApplePlay. This explains why the radio stopped, but why the ApplePlay? Happens every time. This also happens, again when the radio is on, and I get a text message. Radio goes off and ApplePlay screen comes on. I think I could stop this from happening by switching off ApplePlay altogether. But why? Advice really appreciated. Thanks.

Apple Carplay automatically connects on each start and switches to it no matter what source you were listening to last. It is a bit annoying. Not sure about your reverse issue? Could just be timing of how long it takes Apple Carplay to connect and how long it take you to back out and put it into drive. Just a hunch. Try turning off Carplay or unpairing your phone or turning off wifi and BT on your phone and see what happens when in reverse.
