2017 540i Muffler Delete
Hi, wanting to do a muffler delete on my 540i. Does anyone have any sound clips of theirs? I’ve heard 340/440’s but they have a slightly different exhaust set up to the G30. How’s the drone? It appears that the 540i is quite well insulated. Thanks in advance.

I recommend you get an actual muffler instead, especially when you own a luxury car like the five series.
The muffler delete will make the car louder, but I think it loses sound quality. It's raspy and drones inside the carbon on certain RPM.

Your better off just cutting the resonator out of you want a bit louder of a sound and going catted or catless downpipe.
It’ll be louder but more when you step on it instead of 24/7 unless that’s what you want. There’s a few videos on YouTube but I have never heard one in person

You will end up with drone/vibrations/rattling. If you want good sound and you have some money to spend I'd recommend an axle back exhaust system. But I highly recommend running high flow cats/catless down pipes and removing the resonators. Absolutely 0 drone, still very quiet and has some noise if you want it. |
