Did I bricked my car?
Okay, so I'm new at this coding. I was able to code no seatbelt warning and digital speedometer. but now, my fuel, oil temp, and tachometer doesn't work. I'm not sure what I did wrong. How can I reset everything back to normal? like remove all coding?

When you first read your car, you should have saved that file as your original backup. I'm guessing you didn't do that?

So you edited the original and coded with that? That is the original that your car had. Can you remember what you changed?
Did you use this excel sheet? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...CPqY7sEC#gid=0 Some options dont work for some years, maybe you edited the wrong one.

Reset the module by loading the experten mode profile.
Just like in normal coding you choose the e89 chassis and read VIN from cas. Press "back", then "Process ECU". Choose frm/nfrm and click "Execute job". This will code the standard values from the vehicle order.

Doesn't that sound like the standard daten file problem.
The one that occurs when you don't have up to date daten files.

Your daten files are older than what is on your car. It has been discussed many times before. A sticky thread was even created for this exact issue.
Download latest daten files and then code module to default. |

Yes, I'm actually looking at a few threads with similar problem. When you guys say use expertmode and recode. Do you mean loading expertmode, press f1, f3, choose cas, press back, process ecu, choose each module, and execute job?

Choose cas then choose Kombi then read the kOmbi module and then go straight to job and choose Sg_coderien and execute job
Coding is not a game. You should really do a thorough research and read into it more and gain an understanding of what is needed to code a car. You can easily Mess things up quickly. If u would have researched and read then you should already know updating the the most recent spdaten files is a must. Last edited by cn555ic; 08-07-2012 at 09:19 AM.. |

This seems to be condensed down to 2006 production year cars with recently updated KOMBI at the dealer using old files. |

backing up your trc file does nothing for you. Your settings are already determined by your vin and VO string, which means all you have to do is expertmode >> execute job. In this case, its a difference in functions your car isnt familiar with from what you flash it with, so it freaks out and stalls. TRC files only contains converted hex values into simple active, not active, pre designated values per function ei reversible

By the way what is the build month and year of your car.
By the way what is the build month and year of your car.
If you state that then maybe others car tell you which version of the daten files will work with your car. |

I LOVE YOU GUYS! sorry for being a nub. I panicked and didn't know what to do. After reading like 20 threads, I got it down. I'm scared now and don't want to mess with coding anymore
All for a no seatbelt warning. sigh. Last edited by bmvee; 08-07-2012 at 02:21 PM.. |
