2018 530i Sport Lease Assumption SoCal

I have ad up on Craigslist for someone to assume my 2018 530i with SportPackage. Let me know if you are interested.

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/...966905797.html

So I leased a new 2018 BMW 530i and placed it into service in January 2019. It's a great car but I am going back to Mercedes. You can take over my lease through BMW Financial and your payment will be $649.94 which includes CA taxes. The lease runs through 1/13/22. I put $6500 down to lower the lease payments and the lease allows 10k miles per year. See image from BMW website - a 2020 configured with the same options, with $2,500 down, is $799 per month. Do the math - you will come out several thousand ahead.

The car has 6,000 miles on it as of 8/28 but the car came 700 miles on it (executive loaner) - so those miles do not count against the lease. As part of the transfer I would request a $3k payment to offset my buy down. This is a great deal for you because I am only 9 payments into the 30 month lease. If you are not familiar with a lease transfer this is done through BMW financial. They will run a credit check and transfer the lease paperwork to you. The only impact to the payment would be if you have bad credit. If you are not familiar with a lease all maintenance is covered except tire wear. The car is accident free.

In all honesty, you deal is horrible. Try your luck on swapalease or leasetrader.

Thanks for your feedback.

What makes it a bad deal? Is it the $3000 down or the monthly payment of $649 or both? The $649 includes CA taxes which I assume is a pretty big chunk of the payment. I need to break that out in case anyone out of state is interested. I thought this was a good deal compared to the payment of $799 per month per the BMW web site for a 2019 equipped with the same features and $2,500 down. I found 5 series on swaplease for less but most of them are stripped down - no sport package. The 5 series with more features were more expensive.

its a bad deal because someone can go and get a new bmw for less... i just got a 2019 loaner with 2200 miles for 1500 down and 622 a month.. and its a 540i msport with conv package.. so you can compare to that,.

sorry to say but you got bent over on the original deal. you're going to have a really hard time getting someone to take over this lease. you can get a new one with this payment with just first months payment and registration as the drive off fees. whatever dealer/salesman you went to, i would never ever go back to them again. for about $50-60 more a month you can get a 540i msport with nothing down other than minimum drive offs. someone might take this deal if you eat the down payment.
