I production has stopped as they have already started on the g60
I also went the g30 m550 route getting one the last here in the U.K. the g60 just wasn’t for me and the g30 m550 is what I wanted because Last chance for a V8 in a non M car Didn’t like idrive 8 or higher so wanted physical controls Like the g30 styling , arguably one of BMW’s best No hybrid technology in it Ability to turn off ASS So glad I did |

Good to know. I believe the 540 became mild hybrid at some point. Figured they all did.

That’s the 545e. That’s a straight hybrid. I’m talking about the “mild hybrid” technology. No plug in or manual recharge involved.
Unless they call the 540i a 545i in Europe.

Right. We’re talking about two entirely different powertrains. A “mild hybrid” is not a PHEV.

Based on a little google research, the M550 (at least in 2020) does not use the mild hybrid tech.

Are you talking about the upcoming G60 version of the M550 that isn’t out yet? I believe most think it will be an M560e with a hybrid I6 engine.
