2021 M550i correct wheel spacers

Hey all,

What is the correct MM spacer for a stock height (no plans to lower etc.) 2021 M550? To bring the tires flush with the fender. I have the stock jet black rims with all seasons. Additionally, is there any known adverse affects of doing this?, will the tires rub, ruining suspension components etc? Thanks in advance!

I believe the general consensus is 12/15 for non lowered, and 15/18 or 15/20 for lowered. I just bought 15/18 in future classic (they don't have a 20) along with KW v3 coilovers for my 2021 m550.

Nice! That’s going to look so damn good. I wish I could lower it also, but the NH roads are not the best lol. Keep us updated once it’s all installed. Really wondering if I do the 12/15 if there’s any cons to doing it etc. I definitely want it for the better looks, just don’t want any adverse affects in the process. Thanks!

I have 15/20 non-lowered. I'm happy with it, but think 12/15 is probably a marginally better config (if you don't want the tire sticking out at all).

Yeah, excited to get it done. I also bought a Remus cat back exhaust, but it has been delayed for months. I am supposed to get it here any day now; and then I am taking my car to my local shop to have the coilovers, spacers and exhaust all done at the same time.

There won't be any adverse affects as far as I know. Just make sure you buy the longer bolts. They come in the future classic set. You can buy them through IND.

Definitely planned on the longer bolts, may go with the Dinan kit, not sure yet. I went with the Dinan X pipe because I wanted to keep the stock catback/tips, it sounds amazing!! I love it. So yours should sound unreal!
What’s the consensus on adding grease between the spacer and the hub… Yes, no? How much etc. Thanks everyone for your help, really appreciate it!

I originally went with 10/13mm but switched to 13/15mm. I think 15/15 would be ideal for my m550i

What year? (Not sure if that even matters) and is it lowered? Also, I found out only anti seize on the hub lip and ABSOLUTELY no where else besides that. I keep thinking I’ve decided on 12/15 to be perfectly flush (don’t want it passed the fender) but then everyone has different opinions lol

@PsiAddict I just did mine Friday. Dinan, 12mm up front, 17mm out back. Not lowered and no plans to. I did a ton of research on size including looking at pictures and reaching out to people. The general consensus I received was 12/17. A bunch of people that did 15 out back were happy but they wished they went 17. I am in New England as well, I drove the hell out of it all weekend. No adverse effects at all. Smooth as silk with the 20" Summer Non-Runflat Softies. I got it up to 125mph just to make sure I didn't feel anything. No difference in ride before and after which is what I expected. Definitely a cosmetic mod, but I love how the wheels fill the gap better and are now to the forefront. No regrets at all going 17mm in the back. Top of the tire is flush with the fender. 12mm up front is a no brainer and pretty standard. Had my performance shop order them along with 40mm bolts for the front and 44mm for the rear, per Dinan. The shop is Bavarian Performance Group in Winchester MA if you are nearby. 30 minute job including prepping the hubs with wire brush and lube.

Go with 12/18, won't be disappointed and it's a nice flush fit.

Agreed, Dinan doesn't make an 18mm, just 17mm then to 20mm. I think 20mm may be too much.

Wheel Spacers 2018 M550i

I've read several posts on spacers and the only thing that seems consistent is 12mm upfront is the consensus. I'm struggling with the backs trying to decide on 15, 17, or 18. I don't plan on lowering the suspension, which seems to be a factor. This is my first exposure to spacers so I've done some research and considering Dinan, Future Classic (IND), or ECS Tuning. My BMW dealer informed me that they used to work closely with Dinan until their customer service declined and they are now recommending IND. Any experiences or feedback is appreciated.

I've seen the pictures of the 12/17 in this thread but if anyone has 12/18 pics, please share. Thank you.

FWIW, I went with 17mm Dinan in the back, but if they made 18mm, I would have done that. You just want a quality spacer, they all do the same thing, which is create space. Those are all fine choices. I am kind of loyal to Dinan and my shop is a Dinan shop and they will only install Dinan. I am happy with 17mm though.

I did 15 (rear) and 10 (front). Both look great but would do 12mm in the front if I had to do it over.

Any pics of the 15 rear spacers? Would like to compared it to the pics of the 17 rears posted earlier.

I've been thinking of adding spacers to my car as well.

I did 10mm front and 15mm rear. But have 12mm and 20mm in boxes waiting to be installed (also longer bolts for rear are required).

So I will likely have some 10mm and 15mm spacers for sale soon. Will include the longer bolts needed for the 15mm, but the buyer will need to source longer bolts for the 10mm spacer. All were used for about 1.5 years and 3k miles.

I did 10 front and 13 rear with 668m wheels. On stock suspension I thought the fronts were good, maybe 12mm is the max. On the rears 15mm would have been better. 17.5 is the max there in my mind. My new wheels have custom offsets and width they land me 12.5 and 16.5mm further out respectively.

went with 13/15 4wheelspacers and am getting a slight (but quite annoying) vibration at 100-120km/h

will try to return them and order a set of H&R or Dinan in 12/15
