Well, I just made the appointment for the CarBahn tune. The numbers are too tempting. Looks like they have improved the tune since this thread started and I also think they have clarified their website. I have the N63R engine and these are the numbers I was told to expect. They have the OEM stock numbers right. They will be removing the Dinantronics V2 next Friday and flashing the CarBahn. If anyone wants dibs on the V2, PM me a fair offer.

I had my car (B46) flashed with their tune.

The car is getting dynoed today so I can actually confirm their numbers.

Must be nice to get 93 octane! One reason I don't go for a tune is we only have 91 octane here and the juice isn't worth the squeeze, IMHO.

So the car was put on the rollers, as you can see the torque numbers match what was advertised, however, the HP numbers fell a bit short.

The first question was, “Which gas did I use?” I told them Wawa and they said, that's the culprit. Needless to say, I found the numbers interesting and I still think the tune is a good one.

Thanks for posting. Doing my tune in a couple of weeks.Did you have to install an additional heat exchanger and how long did it take to unlock the ECU's?

Are the LCI models eligible for tunes? I thought they were really locked down and tunes weren't possible.

I'm probably misinformed.

Unless something has drastically changed recently, the LCI models are still locked. Everyone here is discussing pre-LCI ECU.

Yes you can tune LCI model with Carbahn. It says in their description that these have to get sent out to get unlocked.

That said I'm not worried. Both tunes are on the lighter side compared to BM3 or custom ECU tunes that there is almost zero chance either of these are going to cause a failure. I also don't beat the shit out of the car or track it. I've never launched. I just like the added juice. It's noticeable, but nothing like changing maps and hunting down high octane gas.

If I could do it all over again, I would have put less emphasis on warranty and got the X product for $1,500 less than the V2 as the numbers are the same. That said, Dinan didn't offer the V2 in May when I did it. So I have a $1500 warranty, like paying double for Carbahn.

EDIT: I should add that I have been to the dealer several times and they had no issue or comments on the tune.
I've heard it said before that BM3 is, perhaps, too aggressive. When people say that, are they referring to the stage 1 tunes, or to the more extreme ones? I've also heard it said that any problem with BM3 is too much torque in a "hole shot" (launch) setting, as opposed to, e.g., passing on a 2-lane road. Does anyone have opinions on these items? Sorry if I am hijacking to some extent, but it seems like a natural tangent
