Tire pressure for 20" Goodyear RF on 668 wheels

Last night I was playing around with I-7 and found tire configuration. It was set to Winter tires instead of Summer. So I switched it over to Summer and saved configuration. Said the TPMS would reset once I drove it. Which was today.

Got about 2 miles down the road and Low tire Pressure warning came on. Never saw this before. The I-7 is telling me the "recommended" tire pressures are 50 psi for front and 49psi for rears. I drove the car at least 40 minutes and that never changed. Seems a bit high to me.

The car is a 2020 M550 with the Goodyear Eagle Runcraps on 20" 668 wheels.

I know about the door sticker, but does it matter with Winter and Summer tires?

Like i mentioned, it had been set to Winter tires and I never got the low TPMS warning until I switched over to Summer. Weird....

You may have the winter set programmed for the “over 100mph” setting. Here is a pic from the owners manual:

You can change this in the iDrive settings…

No, what I wrote is that i CHANGED the I drive setting from WINTER to SUMMER and then started getting low pressure warnings.

I dont know how else to properly explain it.

Hmmm...I have to go into iDrive and check things out for you, but I would imagine there is a "reset all tires pressure" button? This was how my last few BMW's worked. I don't think tire pressure expectations are tied to the type of tire selected in iDrive, that more has to do with speed limitations. I run 38/42 per the manual for my Summer non-run flats.

Joe, I've looked at everything and even adjusted the speed from above 100 and below 100. Nothing seems to change the low pressure warning. BUT, if I go back to Winter Tire setup the low pressure warning goes away. I did not see any reset in that section, but I know there's a reset for the entire I drive. Maybe I need to do that? My tire pressure(s) are the same as yours, but fluctuate with temps a bit, which is 100% normal.

Yeh I have 20 inch summer tyres on mine and obviously the pressure varies based upon ambient temperatures but as a guide, my idrive states about 40psi for me with ambient temps around 12c.

I amend the pressure based upon the idrive and monitor every journey to make sure it's not more that 1 psi out.

Judging by tyre wear that is report at the cars annual MOT, the wear is even across all tyres so it must be right

That seems strange but I can't say I have experience. I always thought tire pressure monitoring was tied to a % of air loss under the pressures set when you reset the system. This is how it works in my VW Tiguan. The only way to get rid of the low tire pressure symbol for a low tire is to reset the system after you put air in it.

Someone here has to know. I also am on ID6 and not ID7, so I definitely am not familiar with the menu system. You are going to the dealer tomorrow right? I am sure they know the answer.

I just went back to verify in ID7. There is nothing in there to reset the tire pressure or anything like that. The only options are Summer, Winter and above 100 or below 100 driving (which i think is hilarious btw).

Yes, its going in for service and I will ask them what's going on.

What temp were your tyres?
The idrive adjusts recommended pressure to the temperature, cold pressure would be similar to the one on the stickers/manual, warm pressure would increase from there

This is all I was able to find online. If you've already tried this with no success, I'm at a loss. "From the home menu click car, vehicle status, tire pressure monitor, and tire settings. With the car stopped, and the engine running select perform reset. You will need to go on a short drive for the reset to be completed."
