(HELP) Remove VMAX
Hello,
I just recently bought a 2017 540 XD M sport. I recently found out I cannot go beyond 131 mph. I was able to go way beyond this in my F10 and find it very disappointing that I cannot do that now. I do not have the increased speed limiter in the VIN VO. Is there anyway to remove it without purchasing a tune? If so, I need some help. |

My understanding is this is only adjustable in a very short window. Under 100 miles or something.

It is possible to change/remove VMAX by DME coding in the first 200km. After that, VMAX changeing by CAFD coding gets locked and VMAX can only be changed by either directly modifing EEPROM with an programmer or unlocking DME via OBD and writing new mapping.

There are two things you could try.
1. check DDE coding. There should be one parameter called "VMAX". check coding value. It should be 250 (kmh). If its 210, the car is limited by factory. 2. If Value is 250, you can try reflashing DDE via ESYS to get stock mapping. Maybe preowner messed with mapping/tune. this can be risky |

So if i just change it with esys, it will not change the VMAX. Would this be a time to think of a tune?
