New member oil related maintenance question
Hello everyone I’m new to the g30 platform coming from 2013 535 to 2018 540
N55 to B58 so far all is well however random threads about oil filter issues concerning how common are they? Will doing 2 oil changes a year minimize the risk of oil filter being ripped while removing? (5-6 months - 5-6k miles) Also in the manual bmw 0w30 ll01 fe is also suitable should I switch over to that Last edited by Losimtxl91; 07-13-2021 at 01:06 AM.. |

I would think if you are doing at least annual changes, the risk is low. Over on the E39 forum this comes up occasionally, but it is always from someone that hasn't changed their oil in over two years, due to low annual miles driven.

Use Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W30 from Wal Mart. Has LL04 approval (basically hard core version of LL17FE 0W20 or you could say LL17FE is light version of LL04).
