Red Start/Stop Button

Done. Putty came with it and off on the first pull. Seems the slightest bit sticky but I assume that will wear in over time. Anyone else notice this after a fresh install?

I didn't have a first pull success like Joe but I got it in 3 pulls. Mine does not have any stickiness.

Nice. I don't think mine is sticking after further inspection. I think it's just the sound of the mechanism.

Well it was bugging me. What I thought was sticking is the button rocking a little. The original button is a perfect cylinder with no cut outs. The Amazon button has a lot of cutouts and notches. I swapped the black one back in and it is noticeably smoother. I'm going to try and find another that is a perfect cylinder. Yeah, I'm over the top, but it bugs me.

Meh not over the top at all. So many things I buy either don't meet my standard or I don't like it over time and I change it to something else that I do like.

So to recap, this is the one that I ordered and didn't sit perfect for me. The cutouts are actually different then the picture, some deeper from bottom to top:

That's so weird. The one you linked that didn't fit is the same one that I got and it fit perfectly. Maybe just a different supply since I'm in another Amazon warehouse area, I don't know. If the new one still doesn't fit let me know and I'll order the one that I got and send it to you haha.

I am guessing yours works the same as mine but you aren't as anal as me. I took a video of it and also have a video with the OEM on. Pushing the button in and out. You can tell the difference and hear it.

The first video is from a buddy who ran out to his garage for me last night after I put the red one in. The second is mine. You can hear a double click and the tactile feel is definitely not as smooth.

The OEM video is my buddy's car. He took it for me when I was going all OCD, but mine sounds the same. It's more about the differences in the tactics between the OEM and Red. The Red one toggled in place which caused it to hit the cylinder wall of the port.

New Red was just delivered. I will report back tonight when home.

Good news and bad news. The new red button is an exact match to the OEM button. Same two cutouts on the bottom and solid all the way around, just like the OEM button. Tactile feels the same. The bad news is the writing is off center a tad, so it looks crooked, like at 11 o'clock. I can't have that.

Exchanging for another and hoping this one was just manufactured incorrectly.
