Any input on that? assuming thats the one you purchased & i can clearly see it install on your car! LOL. BTW, did you have a shop install it & if so how much did it run if you don't mind me asking?

No, it is not the one I have on my car. I saw that installed on another forum member's 2019 m550i.

mine is an RW Carbon one. I installed it. no problems at all, just go slow.

Setup I did last week on a 540, all OEM…takes a bit more imagination beyond black and carbon so I kno it’s not for everyone, but personally love it, especially considering the diffuser color was last second decision and discovery to Cerium Grey formula 👀

That look so good imo. I'd love to do the same on mine now that I've seen this.

Not worth the expense mate, diffuser sits quite low and specifically in black/carbon blends with the black tarmac and goes completely unnoticed.

Either keep it OEM same colour as car or test - wrap it and check for yourself if you like what you see. Wrapping is cost effective compared to a carbon diffuser.

Check the MANHART approach on pinstriping a car. I find it much better as it creates a contrasting pattern that stands out and outlines the bottom part of your.

I went with OEM Msport rear diffuser. Painted lower section to match car.

This is what I need to do to mine, it looks great. IMO, having it color matched with the M Sport diffuser accent makes it stand out. It seems like everything from CUVs to minivans has some sort of contrasting black fake diffuser nowadays, so that makes this more monochromatic style look classy and sporty.

Wow, that looks really nice! Interesting how different colors contrast each other, and this ended up working so well. The contrast between these 2 light colors (white vs cerium) is similar to subtlety in the contrast between black and gray, or black and CF; understated but definitely noticeable.

FYI - it’s not a cheap upgrade. I got rear ended up had to replace my rear bumper..so I used the opportunity to swap out the parts the body shop bought which offset the cost quite a bit. You can’t use the original grey lower section and just add the rear diffuser. You have to totally change the lower section to a specific lower bumper section that accommodates the M sport diffuser. There is also a little tiny piece that fits right above the diffuser and fills a small 6-8” gap.. teh lower part comes matte black..so you need to have it painted to match. I think the bumper piece itself is like $600ish and the lower diffuser is real CF and I paid out of pocket for that - it was about $1500. If you were just going to do this on your own - you’re looking at over $2000 in parts plus the painting costs..which is easily another $500+.

You can get cheap plastic ebay parts that very closely mimic the look of the OEM Msport kit… i debated going that route and then I got rear ended by some woman while I was stopped in bumper to bumper traffic - texting & driving!! I made lemonade otu of lemons.

I do like how it turned out. I looked online and pics a LOT to find the look I wanted. To me, many of the full carbon aftermarket kits are just way too aggressive for my taste. Maybe if I had an M5 I would have been willing to go that route - but I think the M550 works better with a more sedate / understated look. The M sport kit gives it an aggressive look but it is very subtle. .

I've got the M Performance diffuser already, but it's still that unpainted grayish black. I'm not sure why BMW decided to make it the same color as the plastic cladding on off road SUVs.

I think it looks good painted to match the rest of the car.

I found this car when I was searching for images of rear diffusers, and this was the look that sold me….

M5 style, color matching not really required with BSM. Aesthetic feels right to me.

Edit: it looks identical, might be the same after all, but painted differently. Mine came glossy black.

I almost went with that cheap eBay kit. I just was not willing to get a grinder and have to tweak the exhaust cut outs…. I had insurance money paying for parts and so I opted to go with all OEM perfect fitment perfect fit and finish.

The eBay stuff is a tremendous value for the money.

Now that I have the rear diffuser, I’ve thought about carbon fiber, lower diffusers on the sides, and a carbon fiber lip. If I Go that route I will grab the knock off stuff on eBay for the sides in the front!

I went with it because I will likely be painting the gloss black trim to match my cars paint, and then see if I can get carbon fiber to fit.
