Homelink G30
Was told by BMW that non rolling code remotes were hard to program. Unacceptable. This was at the dealership. So, tonight I tried and it worked after many failed attempts prior. What I did was hold the remote near the front facing sensors/cameras near the rear view mirror pointing a little in front of it, clicking on and off the remote button and the homelink light finally turned green. So it wasn't broken and homelink is very sensitive for non rolling code gates/garage doors.

Old thread, but I'm also having issues with a community gate. I was able to get the garage door programmed, but I can't get the 2nd button programmed to our community gate using the clicker.

Non rolling codes is usually a piece of cake. Rolling codes have been a bitch for me on this G30. Every time I have some coding done, I lose my garage door setting. It literally takes me an hour to get it back. Clear the buttons, hold the button, wait for the flash, hold the remote close, fast blinking sign for rolling code, get out, push the learn button.....over and over.
Homelink sucks. Someone needs to develop a better system.

I hear that. The instructions in the car manual for how to do it never tie out with my openers either. I have to do extra steps and look up the pdf on the opener online each time. Plus I need a ladder because I have high doors and need to press the pair button on the opener…
Up the ladder, down the ladder, press the button… oh I timed out because I was too slow, repeat… if I did a time lapse video it would be funny |
