I mean, I can handle a little weird and a dose of quirk [gestures toward the X6M & i3S in the garage], but BMW, now you're just plain scaring me.

... and there's a bit of Audi "shield" to the thing, too, eh?

This will sell real good. BMW design and marketing on point again. All the haters aren't the target.

How will this work, will there be an XM and an X8 for non M model? I would like to get the equivalent of the X5 45e, will this be the XM 45e or X8 since it's a non M model.

BMWblog hinted that they won't follow the normal "45e" naming structure and the different engines will have actual names. They were at least correct in saying this would be called "XM" and not an X8 or X8M earlier this summer. |

Hardly. I've been driving nothing but BMW since 1997. I went through the Bangle era and loved all of them, hell I bought three. BMW right now is the Ultimate Gimmick Machine.

I think this car is cybertruck of BMW with that grille. I hate them man, there is zero love about these designs, just some agression. I look back at my E90, F30, Z4 Coupe, E36... And I just can't love these new designs.
I did not own Audi ever in my life, but I do like their RS3s 5 cylinder engines in cars, Id go for the RS3 sedan. Having said that, not Audi fan. I like Porsche design language most, and even they suffer from bloated grille syndrome, like on the rear of 992 911 models. Still, they age better. |

Most new Audis sport front ends that are almost entirely grilles. It appears that the typical automotive buyer has no issues with large grilles. Heck they may even like them. It's clear that enthusiasts opinions don't correlate to general sales numbers as BMW has been doing quite well as have other brands sporting these large grilles.

I dig it…
Looks promising and very imposing. The slits towards the rear of the hood near the windshield are interesting.

Pretty sure my e46 would fit in that left kidney grill.

The designers must have some sort of insect or alien fetish or they're all on drugs…
