LED headlight 2nd bulb function?
Hi all, with standard headlights, there are two "bulbs" i thought the second one would be for high beam but it remains off, it uses the same one for lo & high beam. So what is the function of the second bulb (closer to grille).

It is there for visual balance due to the spacing needed for the upgraded lights. It isn’t functional. Only the Adaptive Full LED headlights use that inner bulb. Though both have a high and low beam for 4 lights total on the upgraded lights.

Well that sucks, the car has upper and lower vent flaps, exhaust flaps, side vents, hud, but bmw decided to put a faux non functional bulb for aesthetic reason?

If it's at all like the F10 those are cornering lights. They should also illuminate when in reverse; though I can't think of any reason why they would.

They aren’t cornering lights on the G30. On the G30 the cornering light is to the left off frame in this photo.

It's not a bulb, it's just optics for the visual as you said and no it is not a easy job to put additional light on that second one. You must uninstall and customize the headlight and deal with all the wiring and it won't come up with a nice lighting pattern and usable functions
