Double slat black grill sets off CEL
I replaced my OEM kidney grill with an eBay black double slat replacement and it threw a CEL. I'm a bit surprised because the active grill still opens and closes fine. Is there a way to modify the double slat grill so that it doesn't set off a CEL? Any ideas?

Did you put your stock ones back in and see if the CEL went away or tear for codes?

I did and the code went away. It turns out I had to cut portions of the double slat grill off to make sure the active grill was able to close completely. It otherwise was very slightly opened and the computer would throw a code. No issue after modifying though.
