Yep I saw them on a couple of M's- and was not sure if they were something the factory did or not?

They are not a factory option or even a BMW design. They are widely viewed a cheesy or ricey by true BMW enthusiasts. 50% of the time a BMW has grill stripes on it is also has a fake M badge on the ass.

I came up behind a stock prior gen X5 a few days ago. All it had on the back was a ///M where the X5 would be. Now we all know there is no BMW ///M only badged X5. When I passed it and looked back, it had a tri-colored striped grill. The dude driving it was a tool.

You get the profile. Posers who are fooling no one but themself.

It's my life mission to stop newbie BMW owners from putting these on, LOL!

Definitely, there is one in every crowd. Today I saw a 530 with an M550 badge on it. Tri-colored grill stripes are more out of ignorance. Badging up is just a crime.
