Why does BMW have to follow Apple with this i business? Electric does not start with an i, it starts with an e. I don’t get all this i fetish.

With that kind of range on a full charge, maybe just me but I would pass.

They can keep the weight down, it just wont have any range.

Until battery tech gets better.

At least the build quality will be better than a Tesla.

This is the only positive I can see.

Everything else is negative.

I'm grounded.

If not as quick as the Model S Plaid, please be at quicker than the Model 3 Performance along with all the road manners and track performance the M badge has been known for.

Sometime before 2030 world will realize the charging infrastructure is not ready and all the EV mandates shall get pushed out. ICE shall live on at least until 2040

Unless Tesla is assumed to be the only charge stations they can’t scale world wide on their own.

iM3 will be an option along with Hybrid

Used 2023s like mine aren’t tanking. Looks like maybe 10% hit at worst. Honestly, I expect the Taycan to have resale values mirroring the Panamera, which just like the 7 Series, are not great. Pretty much anything Porsche, not special edition doesn’t hold value all that well.

Bingo. YouTube has been littered with Ford ads lately, promoting mainly the Mach E and Lightning pickup. Apparently they’re piling up on dealer lots.

Because the E-fetish is even more played out in the EV market, but I agree… I-anything these days is stupid if it’s not an Apple product.

I feel for BMW (and the other car manufacturers). They’re in an impossible spot trying to manage this incredibly complex technological and brand transition, and it’s not on their timeline. Or even the consumer’s timeline.

Spend decades carefully iterating and developing your product and then it’s regulated away. If they manage to re-create the M3 magic in an EV this quickly it would be a total miracle.

I have faith in BMW and believe they will make an epic and fun electric M3. If it looks anything like this pic then it’s a good start. It’s definitely better than some of BMW’s recent designs. Now a great interior and performance and maybe an EV M3 won’t be too bad.

I have no doubt that this will be an ultimate BEAST of a car that will demolish all we know.

Perfect torque vectoring on each and individual wheel will allow for incredible yaw control. The combo with electric drive is perfect since near to zero lag. It will be able to squeeze max effect in the direction the driver wants by vectoring torque on every tire to reach the max lateral/transversal grip possible every millisecond over and over again.

Let it come brother, the new benchmark for usable performance is rising!!!

really curious to see how this goes
You make a good point. I’m considering a 4s that retailed for 138,000- it’s 71,000 right now on the lot with 29,000 miles. And that’s with the 94 kw upgraded battery with 270 miles of range. Also- that’s Porsche certified. Which means on trade it just have come in under 50,000.00? WTH?

Is this a good deal now or is the EV market just a massive depreciating fleet?
