'22 Apple Car Play Issues?

I have a '22 M550 and have just replaced my Iphone X with a 13 and also my 12 with Apple Car play. The bluetooth keeps dropping.
There is also a '21 BMW that is experiencing the same issues.
I am about to expiremnt with interfacing thru BMW and give up text features. I don't really care about the rest and actually miss Dragon and email read/write.

Anyone else experiencing issues with Apple Car Play?

I’d try iOS 15.1 that arrives tomorrow.

That being said, what text features will you lose going to iDrive?

Can you describe the drop out in better detail? I think this is a known issue. Also, does it stop with straight bluetooth audio? It does for me.

Yes it drops completely including connectivity to Iphone.

BMW connectivity gives me bluetooth phone....period.

Dragon used to provide all functions INCLUDING emails read, dictated, and displayed on screen. It was a pay feature but well worth it as my car is a obile office while in traffice.

I've been running 15.x as a developer (for a couple months now +), and drops aren't anything I've experienced (through 15.1), but I have a 2018. Also running a 13 Pro Max since it was released, btw.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and I haven’t experienced drop outs on iOS 15 or 15.1.

With the July 2021 update iDrive 7 allows me to dictate texts and responses via iDrive. But no emails or anything like that. I don’t remember CarPlay doing emails, but it may be that I overlooked that.

Any chance your playing music that's on the phone as opposed to a streaming service when driving?

I had an issue with music on the phone causing drop outs and stutter. Playback would stutter and eventually Bluetooth would drop completely. Seems like a memory buffer issue with the HU.

Changed to streaming service Apple Music and matched all my tunes then deleted all music off my phone so everything streams and perfect ever since.

I think some file types cause issues.

I noticed both carsin your garages. My issues have been with a '21 and '22 with an new Iphone 12 and Iphone 13. Genius staes there are issues.

I don't think Car Play ever did emails. You are correct. prior to this there was Dragon which, not to be redundant read, sent, and showed on your screen emails or texts. BMW opted out of this 3 cars ago (6 years) as I recall. It was the best as a business tool.
