Connected Drive Lag on Phone and in Car since August Update?
Ever since the update in August, my Connected Drive app is often slow/laggy on my phone.
More troubling, when starting a destination in the car from the App--either by telling the App to do so when I get in the car, or going into Connected Drive through iDrive--it is quite slow and laggy. When I click down on the wheel, it registers the click on the screen but it often takes a good 30 seconds to really respond by beginning the route. Is anyone else seeing this? I've deleted and reinstalled the app on my phone and updated BMW Assist in the car multiple times. Genius claims to be unaware of it, and the couple of updates since the one in August that brought some significant changes have not produced any improvement. |

No issues here (iPhone X running iOS 12 public beta).

I believe that the BMW Connected eco-System is generally not friendly towards Android devices.

Features and UX seem almost identical between the two. I'd agree that BMW is generally more friendly to the iPhone user base (e.g. CarPlay support vs no Android Auto), but I haven't noticed any difference in the Connected app. |

Was using iPhone 8 with last version of iOS 11 and also 12.
My Xs Max arrived today. I deleted Connected Drive before I did the last backup on the old phone to restore to the new to start fresh with the app, in case something was messed up that was causing the lag. I'll reinstall once my new phone is set up (restoring now) and report back. |
