Help Me Decide

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about the purchase of my next sedan (my first BMW) and I'm torn between either leasing a new '12 328i pretty loaded (sports / premium / tech) or going with purchasing a CPO '09 335i about equally loaded.

Here's my current line of thinking:

328 Pros:
It's brand new, virgin leather...ahh
better mileage
more room (I have kids)
more reliable

328 Cons:
slightly higher monthly payment
not as fast
a little too flashy perhaps (im the modest type and don't like snickering co-workers)

335i Pros:
lower car payment
better performance stock
more tunability / mods
funner to drive?
i'll own once paid off
less flashy

335i Cons:
questionable reliability
higher maintenance
worse mileage
no new car smell

Kind of torn between the two. Anyone have anything else to add or find yourself having to make a similar decision? Any regrets in doing so? Thanks so much. This site is great and I've already learned so much within a few days.

2012 new body 335i like me or 328 what ever you can afford but you don't want to get a car that the new body for it has come out.

Went with an '09 335i CPO with manual.

Yeah I think I got a case of the tune bug and the n54 seems like the best cure.
