1.6L 520i ?? G30 Egypt, Turkey & Greece Version
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I've seen a " special " small displacement 1.6L (N20 8 guess) 520i offered now in Egypt (Turkey & Greece as well) The reason behind this is the high customs on imported-cars with engines larger than 1.6 (car still cost around USD65-70k though) Any idea how this engine will perform (it's 170hp. 250nm) compared to the normal B48 2.0 offered on regular 520i worldwide. Thanks

Indeed I would echo that. If you have not driven other G30's (and, as I presume they are not popular there, many other bigger engined cars) then that will be your baseline and I guess it will be acceptable for you. However, if you are used to something like a 520d or above, a 1.6l petrol engine will feel extremely under powered in a car of this size. The smaller diesels at least have the torque to help get them going, a small petrol - not so much. |

The 2.0B48 under the hood of the regular 520i is going to be more reliable with extra power and torque compared to the smaller engine. I?d wait for the 530i to come to the market then
