Anyone try this Leib exhaust controller?

Having issues with my Remus exhaust flaps staying synced to my driving mode and would love to override it for cold starts to be quieter.

Seems like a great solution but is a lot of $$$

If I want to manually control my flaps I just use bimmerlink and an obd dongle.

Dinan released a remote option for valve control. $249.

I currently use BimmerLink and an OBD dongle and I'm far from satisfied.

Issues connecting, can't connect or open the exhaust valve option while the car is driving, and sometimes I need to restart the app 3-4x before it will actuate.

Was pretty excited about BimmerLink a month or so ago when I bought it and set it up, but it's proving to be mediocre at best - I'd much rather a hard wired/physical setup to avoid these iPhone software glitches

Nope, they retain the computer-controlled exhaust valves on their axle back exhaust system.

That is interesting. An installer told me no. Thank you for clarifying that.

Check this out, fully programmable to change with rpm/boost levels for optimal exhaust flow as well as multiple custom maps/profiles. Would require installing their actuators/wiring plus its 1100 dollars (at Jegs.com) so its only for the hardcore but shows what is possible.

Here is another valve controller for only $200. Requires no cutting/tapping into factory wiring. Can be ordered preprogrammed with different default settings. I have not ordered yet, but interested.

Thanks for sending! Ended up pulling the trigger on this through Mike at XPH since it's install instructions are slightly easier than the Dinan one, and a bit cheaper.

Remote looks shittier but I'll prob program my garage things to activate instead for more stealth.

Will update once I get it and get it installed

Can you describe the problem in more detail? I have a similar problem at 540. In Comfort, instead of silence, a rumble appeared. And in Sport, it seems that it does not work so loudly. In this case, the flap works during the test. Opens and closes. I can't understand the reason to solve it.

Let us know how it goes. I am not impressed with their customer service. I emailed them last week (email address is in their install document, not on their website anywhere), asking to confirm it will work on the G30 M550iX. No response...

XPH or the manufacturer? I messaged Mike at XPH and had a reply within a day with info. I mentioned it was for my '21 M550i and he didn't say 'it won't fit' so I'm hoping/assuming that's the case. But, XPH is easy to deal with if I have an issue

Will keep you updated once the product arrives

Well, my problem is with the valves in my system that Remus made, not OEM ones. So if you still have a BMW exhaust, it won't likely apply.

But the problem I'm hearing is almost a tapping sound at times like the valves are fluttering or flapping, and sometimes it fails to actuate and gives me a louder than expected cold start.

Might be a spring issue, or the mechanism of the actual exhaust valves on the Remus system (they give you new valves and you install the springs from the OEM exhaust and click in the cables)

My issue is with the manufacturer.
BTW, which version did you order? I notice three different default settings can be ordered. But most retailers only offer "valves open" as the default (which is probably most popular), then activating the button gives you factory "automatic" operation.

I would probably order from the manufacturer, so I can get factory automatic operation as default, and the button push gives the "valves open" setting.

XPH ships these from the manufacturer and their website looks like you can pick the function options too.

I ordered what XPH had as default which was open/closed as the two states. For me, I want this for driving around NYC and guaranteeing that I can either make lots of noise when I want or if I'm stopped by a cop I can rev all day long in any mode and not be loud and get a ticket

So, finally got the controller installed today and it's great so far. Really opens the throat in comfort mode with the valves open, but let's me keep her quiet as possible when moving around late/early.

Had a flutter and what I thought was a Remus exhaust valve failure, but my mechanic checked while installing the new controller and it was just pipes tightened down too much making it not actuate fully. So, now I'm fully back in business - just need to sort out the dreaded programming of the home link buttons so I have garage and open/close valves as my 3x options 🤷*♂️
