Sadly, it won't. The G30 has a different bold pattern than the E60/F10/E92/F8x cars. I believe it's 5 x 112, rather than the "standard" 5 x 120.

Well, thanks for letting me know and saving me the time to try it.

Hi, what happens when you fold down the rear seats - is it flat ? Can you show any pictures of that please?

Thank You.

Question for you folks with the space saver spare.

Car came with 20" run flats - can I just order this space saver tyre + kit and it gets installed under the trunk floor?

As you can see, when you remove the spare, the floorboard drops about 6 inches towards the opening of the trunk and closer to 8 inches on the inside. And with the seats down, the floor and seatbacks are level, although the seats do tilt up several inches.

Your welcome. That is what I thought. Why not. Someone posted that it was around $800 to do afterwards.
Since you asked... This option is a dealbreaker for me. I would find the sacrifice in trunk space much too costly for what's gained.

Pretty sure MS could sell a fit for the G30 as well. I'm happy $450 later.
On the spec setup on bmw website if you add the the 20" 668 double spoke rims with non-run-flats it says "Delete hands-free tailgate operation" as it adds the spare automatically. Is this true that you lose this funtion? Anyone know if you lose hands free tailgate with the 19" or other 20" wheels as well when you add the spare option? Configurator seems to suggest as much.

Ahh that's super interesting that it forces it. That's new. When I ordered my M550i late last year you could not select the 20" with anything but RFTs and it was $150 option to add the space saving spare. Looks like it's $1100 for the 20" with non-RFTs and it forces the space saving spare as you mention and includes it in the price. However, I don't see the "Delete hands-free tailgate" thing when I poke around on the configurator. Where do you see that? For reference -- I ordered the space saving spare and have hands-free tailgate (I assume that's the putting your foot under the bumper and having a 1 in 10 chance of getting it right) on my car.

Once you choose the non-run flats, if you look in the Summary layout of all the chosen options you will see it. Nowhere else did I see an explanation of it.

Recently ordered a 545e and the dealer said to me that BMW are doing away with the automatic tailgate feature altogether. It will not be found on any 5er going forward.

My dealer told me the electronic close feature stays but you lose the ability to waive your foot for the "hands free".

Yea I was going to ask what was meant by getting rid of the automatic tailgate. Seemed unlikely to me it would not be electronically assisted any longer or that you wouldn't be able to open it with your key fob or something. The open it with you foot feature sucks anyway. Whenever I am headed fro the truck with my hands full I give it a shot. I've gotten to open it when I wanted it to.. like once. hah. Maybe I just need more practice. No.. must be the car's fault.

That is so bizarre they are actively taking it away.
In my view, the BMW implementation of the 'wave foot to open/close trunk' is one of the most consistently working implementations I've seen - and the convenience factor immediately shows itself anytime one has their arms full.
Even if both were to be considered fanciful delusions on my part, other manufacturers offer it, so to remove a feature that others continue to offer, doesn't seem like sound business sense to me.

Are your run flats on 18" or 19" rims?

I bought an 18" emergency rim, and was told by my BMW dealer service guy that
I can't use the 18" rim, since I have 19" rims on my 540 xDrive, and if I used the
emergency rim, it could cause damage to the transfer case of the xDrive, and BMW
WOULD VOID ANY WARRANTY....I'm told the transfer case is a $9,000 item if it needed
replacement...

What do folks think? Should I just forget equipping the car with the 18" emergency rim, and get a full size 19" rim to use as the spare ?
That's not true.
Only spare size for g30 is 18" rim. The tire diameter matters not the rim size.
It's T135/80R18 which is the same diameter (26.5") as the oe tires whether 18,19 or 20".
As long as all 4 are the same diameter you're fine for limited driving.
I'd recommend deactivating DSC completely while on spare as it deactivate most of stuff transfer case is doing.

For those that ditch the runflats and still want a spare, look here.
It's what I got and tie straps right between the rear hooks in trunk, still allowing plenty of room. I went with the full kit, including bag for $469. You need spacer if you have M brakes.

I gambled and didn't opt for the spare tire. I ordered with 19" wheels with all-season run flats (which will get changed for non-run flats in short order), and a road side assistance package, saving that area for storage. Just a different approach.
